Recycling is a waste of time and makes your home/garage/property look like a landfill. Take trash to the dump were it belongs and get rid of it. Now if you are unemployed, with no hope of getting a job, then you might need something to do with your time. Like clean out old plastic milk jugs.
What an ignorant statement.

Hold on there Ricky... They limited my bags to seven per week. So that will reduce their disposal costs. Also they ended up putting two trucks out on my south-east end of town because one wasn't cutting it. How do I know this tidbit??? Because I asked one of the trash guys when I got home and they were just picking up my trash, that's how.
Recycle??? YOu bet Ricky. Plastic bags to Walmart and Meijer, aluminum cans to a guy named Danny who lives on the west side. He's a little handicaped and is trying to earn his keep unlike other people who work the system. My cardboard goes to Werner and Son, my paper and recycleable plastic things go to the city.
So...
1. Am not 'Rick'.

2. So 7 30-gallon bags of trash per week per residence isn't enough? That a heck of a lot of trash. When all my kids were living at home we might fill up 4 in a week, 5 during a holiday like Christmas.

3. Kudos to you for recycling.

I have no sockpuppets on this forum.

How many do you have, since you don't appear to have a registered account on Topix?

I don't think this is a "ignorant statement". Are you without a job because you got fired? So, all you have to do with your time is clean out old plastic milk jugs, and that upsets you? Not much of a life you have, if you have been reduced to this. So sad.

You dont have to clean out anything. Just put it in a different trash bag for Wed pickup. Doesnt get much easier than that. You might need two bags for the recycle pickup as my regular trash is now more than half.

Bingo. I usually lightly rinse out an empty milk or juice jug, let it drain for a couple minutes, then place it my recycling bag.

So who makes the money off of recycling trash? Is it the city, wamplers, Winski or Werner? Does the city save money? Just asking so don't bash me, I really don't know the answer.

I believe the city sells the recyclables, but I am not sure to who. I suggest you contact the mayor or street department superintendent for more information.

Or ...$120,000 would have paid for the PR person last year (2012). Wait, we are on the hook for about the same amount to the PR person this year (2013) as well.
Where did you get 120,000,please tell. I was told her retainer was 68,000 and it was all ready being spent the prior year under another budget item. Pip was using it another way. The mayor said one of his cornerstones was communications. She does that for all departments in town, PR is not her job. Mayor never increased his budget one penny for her when he came into office.

Why pay $68,000 for her? I was told this Mayor is a great communicator and speaker, why don't he save the money and us his own brain to promote Frankfort. Is he not smart enough?

So the guy can't type real well. Is that what you are asking?

He has a great point... You missed it obviously.

No ones asking people on here to agree with them, they are simply stating their point of view.

Frankly, it looks like to me if you don't subscribe to the mayor's stuff as dictated by the ol' boys, your a dumbass.

I'm proud to be a dumbass because I see the reality of our town. BROKE

Are you smart enough to apply and write for grants? That part of what this individual does, help bring state and federal funds into the city.

We have people who LIVE in Clinton County who can do that.

After they blow the wad on IVY TECH, we are gonna need some grants to get out of bankruptcy.

Actually he types fine but has a problem with his grammar. You missed the point. He was being corrected on his exaggerated salary quote and he changed the subject.

I personally don't agree with any "good ol boys network". And it is good to know you know you are a dumb ass.

Of course it matters. If somebody is suffering due to one day a week trash pickup they need to contact their city councilman, the street dept. director, and the mayor.

Will not matter. Talk to the elected and appointed people if you choose, but the decision has been made - save money to pay for Ivy Tech.

Administration is attempting to run with 1 truck to pick-up, so the street department can be cut. August is the time frame for the cuts.

Recycle Man is the one that is telling the story.
