This beating of a 16 year old girl in Tampa, Florida recently filled me with so much anger that I felt the need to get involved.
Eight teenagers have been charged with luring a 16 year old girl to a house and then viciously beating her. Upon entering, this girl was not allowed to leave and was beaten by multiple girls. Not shown on the video the girl was knocked unconscious from blows to the head. The girl received a concussion from all of the head trauma that she sustained. There was even a teenage boy outside who stuck his head inside the house to tell the girls to “keep it down” and “that they could be heard outside.” These girls not only premeditated this assault but had the forethought to recruit someone as a “look out” to ensure that their torturous methods were not disturbed and to ensure the maximum length of time their victim received this torture! They also showed the forethought (premeditation) to recruit someone to run a video camera to capture this brutality on video so they could post it on the internet. Not only did these cowards brutally beat this girl but they wanted a souvenir as “bragging rights.”
I beg everyone who sees or hears about this video to contact your state representatives and express your outrage at this vicious, cowardly attack! The people involved in this beating are cowards and evil beyond measure! Don't let this go without voicing your outrage. It may be "YOUR KID" next!!! This goes way beyond a fight between teens and it goes way beyond assault. Everyone involved in this incident: the “look out”, the “video operator” and the “attackers” are evil to the core. Imagine what they are capable of “off camera?”
It is not enough that punishment “fit” the crime! Punishment for a crime such as this has to send the message that these types of attacks will not be tolerated and these kind of attackers will face “dire consequences!” Ask for new legislation that will destroy these predators that "LURE" the innocent to a place where they are helpless and become victims to vicious attacks like this! For every video like this, there are thousands, if not tens of thousands, of these horrendous crimes that take place. IF YOU DON'T TAKE A STAND FOR OTHERS, DON'T EXPECT ANYONE TO TAKE A STAND FOR YOU IN YOUR TIME OF NEED!"

What those girls did is dishonorable, and just plain bad. We can't give these girls a break on this, not at all.

But prison? Even I can't say that's appropriate for little girls.

How about 6 months in the county.

Do you know what the gaurds and male inamtes will do to these girls on a daily basis if they make it into Florida's prisons? In case you don't I'll tell you: Sex slaves. They are young and pretty they will go for a nice price and will be used by many the entire time they are there. Yes, it happens all the time.

Even if that wasn't somethng that happens prison wouldn't be the answer, but it IS something that does happen and if it's going to happen to anyone, it's going to happen to these little teens, the perv's will have a field day!

That's funny, Mom says she is a "good girl". Mom should have said "WAS" a good girl". I agree with the previous poster that this is what happens when you are her buddy and not her parent.
Texxs....You don't think prison is appropriate for "little girls"....Well I believe kidnapping and aggravated battery is not appropriate behavior for adults, let alone "little girls". These cowards knew what they were doing every step of the way and they will know why they are sitting in prison if that is the punishment they receive. Cut them breaks and they will do it again.

Well, well Floriduh in the news again for some outrageous crime incident. What a surprise!!!! All of you can continue on telling me how great it is to live there and that everything is isolated and it happens everywhere. I got news for you, No, it doesn't. Open up your eyes and realize that you all live in a freak state where crime runs rampant and parents have no control over there children and hurt the children of parents who teach their kids morals and to have respect for others.Even if she did talk trash about the other girls - words are just that, words - get over it and control your children. Nobody deserves to be beaten no matter what they did, For those that want to stick up for what these girls did to this 16 y/o, you are just Floriduh trash who are raising your kids wrong and are worthless as parents but I expect nothing less from you who had kids out of wedlock and have no clue how to raise a fish nevermind kids. If anyone wants to confront me about this or to tell me how wrong how I am, bring it - you will lose everytime. The sun is frying all of your brains(of what little you have left after smoking your meth and drink binges)and you all know it.

These girls are NOT bullies!! They are "good" girls... It's just that they enjoy "beating up", thrashing, hitting and pounding on other people.

Lighten up, the girl who got beaten only wound up with a concussion where she has trouble seeing and speaking... that's not so bad... at least she is still breathing.

Personally, I hope the victim sues each and every one of the perps at least 10 million bucks EACH!

I MET ONE OF THE GIRLS LAST YEAR. SHE WAS VERY NICE AND SEEM WELL BEHAVED.BUT WHEN I MET HER THERE WAS NO PARNET AROUND.
BUT ALL IN ALL I COULD NOT BELEAVE THAT SHE DID THIS.AS FAR AS HER MOM. YOU DROPED THE BALL ON YOUR CHILD. NOW DAYS YOU CAN NOT LET YOUR KID RUN WILD. AS FAR AS HER BEING A GOOD GIRL YOU ARE IN DENIAL AND YOU NEED TO FACE THE FACT THAT YOUR LITTLE BABY IS A BULLY.
I DO BELEAVE THAT ALL INVOLVED SHOULD DO TIME AS ADULTS. THAY DID A ADULT CRIME NOW DO THE TIME.

This is a typical response from the parents - "She is a good girl" -

The video doesn't lie you have proof and you are still sitting there saying she is a "Good Girl" WAKE UP she isn't -

And now you have the brother of one of the guys and his friend claiming that they were only there to give them a rid no way - I agree that they need to be treated as adults and charged as adults and now have a record -

This is just the start to what's to come

At least it wasn't racially motivated. I can see the newest law..."MySpace Crimes", just as bad as hate crimes. This video and the subsequent beatings go way beyond bullying. It's depraved indifference. These supposed children deserve to be punished to the full extent of the law, and charged as felons. Maybe losing most of their rights would teach them a lesson. Or would that simply give them an excuse to commit more crimes due to poverish conditions caused by their incarceration as a troubled youth. This is disgusting, and the grandparents/parents of these youth should be ashamed. DCF should ignore any recent calls of child abuse coming out of those homes, those kids deserve to get beaten.

I hope these kids get the maximum penalty for their actions. This wasn't just a schoolyard fight; the girl was trapped in a house by 6 girls with no way to leave. All of those girls should be kicked off the cheerleading squad just due to the fact that they represent their school and should not hold a leadership position. The parents of the girl whose house this took place in should also be accountable as well. The parents of these kids should be looking at themselves and what they have taught their kids. The damage they did to this girl physically and mentally should not go unpunshied. I saw the video (and how could you not because it was plastered all over the TV/ internet and was I was disgusted seeing the brutality these kids showed... because someone was insulted or had trash talked about them on my space page? Did they never hear the saying "sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me"? It floors me that one of the grandparents stated "we support her" that they support her deplorable behavior.

I was just schocked. They had a plan and they followed through. It was like the were talking and saying I'am going to beat her up and then nothing happens after they run their mouths and cool down. The had a plan. That is the scary part that they kept their anger and held onto it. Everyone gets mad every now and then runs their mouth but the normal person then cools down and nothing ever happens. These kids plotted it had to take alot to get what 6 kids to agree to act like this. They need to pay a big price. And Parents wake up. These parents shold be telling the world how sorry they are but they are not, somehow they have justified these kids actions. That is scary also. i know you love your kids but you can say I am sorry and you can bet I am handling this the right way at home, but you also have to understand even though I am mad as heck at them I still love my child, and I can only thank the Lord this child is safe now. Parents wake up and start teaching your children respect.

You really need to wake up and smell the coffee. Its not just in Florida its all over the states, this is because you can no longer discipline your children as we were when we grew up. Instead of a discipline you have to talk to them like they are on the same level as you as an adult, not being able to spank or scold your child anymore is what is wrong everyone wants to call DCSF and have them involved because Mommy or Daddy spanked me because I was out of line. It is UNFAIR of you to judge everyone in the state over the actions of others. If the government hadnt stepped in and tell Mommy and Daddy how to raise their children and take away the discipline it would be a much better world but the government wants to always stick their hands in where they shouldnt. Before you judge everyone in the state look around your own there are just as many issues there you got off the track here the girls and guys need and should be charged as adults and now have a record to follow them for the rest of their lives and she isnt a GOOD GIRL either!

This headline is inaccurate. The kids interviewed did not say "They are not bullies!!" They said they did not seem like these type of people. Kind of like the Jeffrey Dahmer or Ted Bundy deal, "he seemed like such a nice guy". These news organizations need to stop sensationalizing everything and stick to the facts. Write interesting articles and we will read them.

Ok, I understand where you are coming from but you don't honestly think they would go to prison with male guards and male imates? We do have female prisons in Florida.
