It's unfortunate the amount of pressure that is on young men and woman these days. That being set aside the decisions he made were extremely poor, and he ultimately paid for it. But I think it's important to respect his family by not saying such things as "this 19 year old boy is an idiot". Don't think family members, fellow classmates, as well as his friends aren't reading these comments; that would be a brainless thought. Don't think you have any idea of Charlie's thought process that night because unfortunately I don't think he was able to grasp it. I just think the responsible think to do would at least be to respect his family and not write such harsh comments about their son who had just died.

I agree with everyone on here when they say this 19 year old boy is an idiot. You can say whatever you want. Its the truth. It may be hard to hear but it is a fact. He had no remorse for the others who were in his path of destruction. He was driving erraticly through Mukwonago, that is why the chase started. It didn't matter that his license plate came back to the cops and said the boy was on probation. They wont start chasing you for that reason alone. He obviously was doing something wrong. To me this crash was completely 100% a suicidal. To turn your lights off 100ft before a tow truck and smash right into it. He had no care for the cops, or the tow truck driver. If he would have harmed them and he lived that man would have a lot of people to answer to and thank god that is not the situation. So say what you want that he is a christian..he is not. If you are trying to kill yourself do it alone do not put others in harms way, they have families and people around then who love them and they do not deserve to die due to your lack of control on your life!
Thank you for your post, and this tow truck driver who's vehicle was hit, is a friend of ours too. Maybe this will help people understand a little more of why I was completely upset about this whole situation. Thank God that he wasn't hit, because he is a GREAT young man. There are too many towers that are hit and killed by reckless drivers, and this young man, we can say is ok.

This is a forum, not a memorial board. Start one of those if you want people to be sympathetic. This is a place where we get to express our own opinions. If you dont like them dont read them

I didnt think my life was that hard at 19. Going to college, getting a education and not running from the cops..seems pretty simple to me

Don't assume we all didn't know him... I knew him, and his family... and I know that Charlie was on probation for fleeing the police last year, and has had run-ins with law even before that... not to mention stealing his parents car a few times and getting caught. I feel sorry for his family and truly wish things went differently for Charlie. Yes being a teen is hard, but most of get through it without dieing in a police chase. Last time I saw him was shortly after Christmas and he seemed to have his stuff together a bit more than before. I can tell you from real expeirence... he wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. I'm not calling him stupid, nor do I wish to speak badly of charlie... he was overall a good kid. But when I heard the circumstances surrounding his death I was disheartened and surprised... but not exactly shocked.

Thank you for your post. In my life, I have known several people that have had huge issues. You feel bad for their families knowing the pain these people put them through. You watch their dim actions hoping that when (not if) they go out in a blaze, they don't take out anyone else.

I am not saying he deserved to die by any means. With that said why do people always blame someone else for their actions? Where is the accountability in todays society? This young man made a very very poor choice in choosing to run from the police at high speed, but lets blame the police when something negative happens to him. The police were doing the jobs that we as tax payers pay them to do. When I was younger and made a poor decision I was never coddled and told to blame someone else, I was told to suck it up and deal with the consequences. This young man made his own bed, now he has to lie in it...thats a bad analogy for this situation but the meaning still holds true. My condolences to his family and friends.

this is a tragic accident and death..i wasnt best friends wit charlie but i did know him through a youth group from high school..he had a big heart and a great sense of humor..i wish we could have answer to what exactly went down that night and what charlie was or wasnt thinking but we dont..and what people are writing on here makes me sick..i understand its your opinion and KKJ im glad your tow truck friend didn't get hurt in this terrible accident..ultimately charlie is a person...a young person...i live in the area and this is the 4th young person funeral i have gone to due to a tragic...it never gets easier and its terribly sad..charlie had so many friends and people that cared about him...i do not believe this was a suicide attempt..charlie had plans for the future and his family has proof of that..i think he was just in a scary situation and possibly under a terrible influence that caused him to make the decision he made..i know he is in a better place and is watching over us young people along with our other young guardian angels..instead of sitting on here posting your disrespectful opinions you should be cherishing your lives..we are not promised tomorrow so live everyday as if its your last..RIP Charlie...you are missed!! put yourselves in the place of his friends and family how would you feel if it was someone you had known..no parent should have to go through this and other parents and people should comfort them not judge the situation...

Don't you think the family knows how people feel and think already? Please try to put yourself in their place and remember how you would feel reading these comments. Thanks.
