Chicken little lives!! Is the hospital going to close it's doors? Not likely. It is amazing to me that the very worst case scenario and even a little over the edge for a dramatic flair is pushed for effect. Did the board of the hospital wake one morning and say"OMG" we need a few extra bucks here. If they did, then then the board really needs to be booted out. Along with the administrator. What is being done with cash they get from the government anyhow. They "write off" some of the bad debt. Yada yada yada. Who is in charge here????

Get ready Bowie your utilities are about to increase!! When BMH has to close our 2 city ambulances are not going to cut the cheese in all the transfers! The city will have to add staff and Bowie will have to pay for all the Forestburg and Sunset transfers! Hope the city of Bowie wises up and refuses to serve those areas!!

Well if they do add staffing to the fire dept that will only be about 5% tax increase at the most. Not 19% now and 40% in the next 10 years. If bmh has to close then it is not worth a Dam. All hospitals are businesses that make money. That one just needs new management. End of story. Wise regional would be better to move a clinic to Bowie and bail out of Bridgeport

Do you really think utility increases was a viable threat that would make the voters approve that ridiculous hospital district tax, idiots? It's not Sunset, nor Forestburg's problem that you have a screwed up city utility department, or a screwed up hospital for that matter either. Bowie's downward spiral is the result of it's own decisions and poor management. It is not the taxpayer's responsibility to fix such's now clearly the City of Bowie council members' and hospital administrations' duty to correct things.

I have had my doubts in the past about the mentality of Bowie residents, but this site clears up all doubts. Maybe the city needs to invest in a better school system. One that can teach people to SPELL. People in Bowie are ignorant to the fact of why this was started and needed.
