New prison empty ... for now
Already, four months of inattention is taking its toll. The locks on gates leading to the prison yard, which normally would be used countless times in the course of a day, were freezing shut.

I have a idea, use it as a holding place to round up all illegal aliens and there kids then ship them off back to the homeland

Now the stinking prison is open. I hope Grayson Co. and independence is proud of the dump. You have request for Islamist and sunni muslum religions, pagans etc. Next you will have the prison gays getting married, etc. I know people need work but the prison is a down fall of Grayson/independence. What a big joke on all.Anyone that is proud of a prison is SICK and needs mental treatment. Wonder what will be lurking around your town now!!!

I came up, along with six co-workers, and did some repair work. We stayed in your motel for four days and three nights, ate thirty-six restaurant meals, bought over seventy gallons of fuel before leaving, and visited the bars in Galax. During our three days work, I saw numerous visitors coming and going through the gates. I'm sure they all spent some cash while in town, also. Now, I'm not trying to argue with the views of "true" and "outlaw 1", but if you add it up, you can't deny the economic impact of your river gulag, and what it means to a town with very little visible job opportunities. I know I left a chunk of change in your registers. Go to VA DOC website, click "River North", then "Job Opportunities", and tell me who else in town is paying these wages for basically a babysitter! Thanks, and say "hey!" to mama an'em.

Sorry, those openings at river north were only open until last week, but the correction officers were open to the general public and paid about 28-32k per year. I talked to some of the guards while there, they all agreed it was a pie job, great pay for the work, and were very happy to have the job. The inmates seemed well-behaved, walking around working, driving the backhoe, one even had a pair of bolt cutters across his shoulder!(They were working on the kennel fence.) Wouldn"t mind working thee myself if it wasn't 150 miles from home. Or, if I ever had to go to prison, that would be my first choice.

"grouchy old man" and "Hawkins co" are both me, I didn't realize I was using a different name. Sorry.
