Sounds like the house is too close to the street.

I think if you drive by the house you will see that it is too close to the street. It's about 3' from the street. And btw, I didn't vote for BO.

Maybe if they put a stop four way stop sign there it would make it safer.

I live right off of Mt. Rose Avenue, just a few blocks down from where this happened. It seems like a serious crash occurs on Mt. Rose on a regular basis. I hope the Township and PENNDOT will hear this neighbor's plea and take a look at safety on this busy street. I am glad nobody was hurt in this incident!

I meant to add...

Perhaps installing bollards on that corner would make it safer.

Also, I often see those children waiting for the bus along that section of the road. The cars coming up over the hill just travel too quickly. When I come over doing speed limit, they are on my rear getting angry that I'm not letting them fly through. I think it would be safer to relocate that bus pickup and drop-off. I've seen kids have to cross that street too after school, and there's no guaranty cars WILL stop for the red flashing lights and stop sign of the bus.

How could the house have been there before the street?

Maybe they shuold put some kind of air bags or rubberized bumpers there so the cars bounce off if they veer off course.

It's an OLD house.
Actually my husband and I looked at the house when it was for sale last...besides being in not the best area - the house is literally crooked! We walked on a slant the entire time we toured it.
We passed the area last night and when we realized that the crooked house had been hit we noted that maybe the insurance company can now straighten it out! Counting our blessings we passed on that one, hope the family fares better in the future. Be thankful there were no injuries!
