Yeah sure. After the one to Tacoma goes over budget and the one to Bellevue goes over budget and, oops, sorry - no money left for Lynnwood / Everett! Gotta have yet-another-vote and since Tacoma and Bellevue already have what they want good luck...

Wasn't Lynnwood and Everett promised light rail by 2010 on the original budget? And where's the improved Edmonds commuter rail station?

Light rail, as a value proposition, is sink hole economics. In today's economy, large scale transportation projects are nothing more than "make work" projects. Putting in multiple I-5 exit ramps for buses, at $20 million each, did nothing to reduce travel time to Seattle. Rail projects are attempts to make politicians (with flacid leadership) look good in newspaper photos, and line the pockets of large construction related companies, only to provide VERY EXPENSIVE per seat rider-ship. Reducing traffic travel times, and facilitating income producing taxpayers will produce more income, hence more tax revenue. But at the expense of no photo opps. Heck, if you want to get more riders, and votes at the same time, make bus ridership free! Fairs only cover 20% of cost.
