Although I applaud teacher Phoebe Sunflower for recognizing victims of radiation from an atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Let us not forget the Nanjing Massacre in China, where 300,000 Chinese were elimitated by the Japanese, hundreds of thousands of young and older women were captured and raped, tortured and turned into prostitution by Japanese invaders during this time period. Japan considered the Chinese an inferior race, and planned a genocide of immense proportions. The drop of two atomic weapons to quell an arrogant and imperialistic Japan was the best solution to counter an impending invasion planned by US forces, thwarting much less loss of life on both sides fighting with conventional weapons. God Bless America!

And to the Americans who suffered during the Bataan Death March, prison camps, bilogical warfare, and beheadings, real Americans salute you- http://www.forties.net/beheadedPOW.html The liberal left always seems to forget this, or bury it in history as non-essential information. It would be in great hopes that a school in Durango would also send symbols of hope and peace to China and other countries that suffered from the steel sword of Japanese destruction of the 1930s-40s |

I get a feeling of dismay, when our own troops who fought, died and suffered through unspeakable atrocities in preventing imminent invasion, are not honored in our schools. But people and their government who backed their country by eliminating anyone who opposed their totalitarian rule are glorified like heroes. That's the liberal way, and Durango education is not discounted out of that scenario. I think this school teacher needs to head back in college, and take a more in-depth study of how freedom in America is achieved. Then she can make Peace Cranes for those who died for keeping America free. I blame the Durango Herald as well, for glorifying murders of Asian folk who had no defense against the Japanese invaders.

Teachers taught in liberal schools, are the least folk to honor and respect their fellow countryman who serve in the American armed forces. It's always about people who live on lands that we fought to give the world freedom. The Obama " apology" mentality doesn't win hearts of other nations, only creates unrest and uncertainty in an increasingly difficult world. We irradiated Japan with a bomb, because WW2 was an unnecessary war of hostile domination and fanatical death inflicted upon Americans. We had to put a stop to it, and chose the best way to end the war. Japanese were not keen to a negotiation of seize fire, so the only alternative to quickly stop the war was to melt our influence into their minds and faces, quite literally. Never stoop down to liberal idiocy, thinking we must be guilty for our actions.
