I am the home who shares the parking lot with the VFW Hall, which you rented last night for a wedding reception. Not only did you park illegally in my yard, which I overlooked because it was a joyous occasion for you, but one of your guest stole an orange ice chest out of my yard.

On a tree by the ice chest, there is a sign that states "no trespassing". I could care less about the ice chest, really, but whoever took it walked INTO my yard about 50 ft. and took something that didn't belong to you. You violated my right to privacy, and my right to put things in my yard without the worry of someone walking in and taking something of mine. I want it back, plain and simple.

I just want you to know that because of your actions, you have ruined parking for everyone. I am fixing to put up boundary markers stating "no parking, private property", and will take pictures of whoever violates my right to privacy. Whoever taught you that it's okay to come into someone's yard and take things that don't belong to you taught you wrong. I don't want you to trespass into my yard and put it back where you got it, I want you to knock on my door and politely return it to me, and an apology would be nice.

Doug, it was out in my yard to cover up the sewer trap so that little old ladies who play bingo wouldn't run over it. I was asked by the VFW Hall to do that. And really, that's the best you can come up with? It's my yard, am I not allowed to put things in or on it?

Since the town has not been mentioned yet, I assume you are from Branson, like your it says by your name. In that case, no one cares!

Birch Tree does not have a vfw hall that is still called such but it does have a building that has a yard next to it that is ocassionally referred to as vfw hall. MV has one somewhere down by the softball fields. Hard to make someone feel bad about taking a cooler when they don't know what town you live in. Is the cooler red? I found a red one on the road outside of Montier while driving back from van buren last weekend heading towards my paradise. Is that your cooler? If so, let me know what vfw you live near and I will set it in front of their front door next Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. May even put a six of cold Coronas in there for interest!

this is pitiful, what dam difference does it make why it was in their yard,it belonged to them ,they could put it wherever they wanted.the point is someone came in their yard and stole it!AND it doesnt matter what town they they live in it was their cooler.you dont take things that dont belong to you !!!

Had to the MV one, because that party was crazy. Please understand that the name of the city listed doesn't necessarily tell of your real home town. Also, the cities listed frequently change. I am always from the same area and it will say Ozark, Branson, West Plains, Ava, Forsyth, united states, and so on. I am sorry that some one took the cooler, and I understand why the person feels the culprit came from the party. I am sort of shocked that people are rude to the person making the accusation-they have just as much right to state their feelings as does everyone else.

I do live in Mountain View. And to the rude people who commented, let me say this. I moved here two months ago, and moved here because Mountain View seemed like a nice, quaint, friendly town. I love this little town. My point here is, does Mountain View condone going into someone's yard and just taking what they want? Doug, why don't you tell me where you live, and let me drive by and see if there is anything in your yard that I might like to take home.

It doesn't matter why the ice chest was there, what matters is that it was on MY property. To the person who came and petted my pit, you my friend, had to trespass to do that. THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. So according to some people here, everyone in Mountain View should take all their yard art in during the night to prevent stealing? If I hang up clothes on a clothes line, are they there for your taking?

I could care less about the ice chest. And no, to Foxy Lady, that's not my ice chest. What I do care about is trespassing on someone's property, plain and simple. To "from the party" if I had seen who took it, I would have damn sure stopped them. I know for a fact it was someone from the wedding party, because it was there when you guys were here, and it was gone when you left. Do the math. You people who condone this, or somehow blame me are pathetic, and that is why our society is in the state is again. Doesn't anyone govern their actions by morality anymore?

You don't mind the bingo games (which are actually illegal, but our "public servants" refuse to do anything but you are mad about a cooler which was in such good shape that it was used to cover the sewer trap.

Sounds like you pick and choose which laws you think ought to be enforced. Maybe you check your own morality.

I don't mind the bingo either, and guess what, i had no idea it was actually illegal. Sounds to me like the person just chose to live somewhere and all the shite that is falling on them is somehow their fault. You haters must be those fat cat elitists who expect us regular folks to put up with your bs.

I really and truly just don't get most you folks. From what I'm understanding, it's okay to trespass on people's property, and also to steal. How I'm being blamed for this is beyond anything I've ever heard.

It matters not whether the cooler was in good shape, or why I had it out there IN MY YARD to begin with. If I choose to put a hat on a pole, it's still my yard and my stuff. Trespassing is illegal, and stealing is as well. Somehow a lot of you are missing that and justifying your behavior. I find it disgusting. I was raised better than that.

As for bingo being illegal, I didn't know that either, but you know what? At least the VFW Hall asked my permission for parking in my yard. None of the reception folks did. And don't give me that BS about not knowing anyone lived here. I went out a few times to put my dog out, and many of you were in the parking lot and saw me. You all have excuses, but your excuses make no sense whatsoever.

The issue here is not whether I don't have a life, or whether I used the ice chest for covering a sewer trip. The issue is parking illegally without caring if it was my yard you were parking all on, and whether trespassing and stealing is right. You wouldn't like it if I came and parked all up in your yard, and you wouldn't like it if I came in your yard and took something that belonged to you. It's that simple.

Again, I'm not mad about the cooler, I am mad that you choose to walk into my yard, which wasn't yours, and took something that was mine, not yours. That's it, I've had it with all your stupid comments and justifications for immoral and illegal actions. I'm glad you aren't my friends, because I would trust you as far as I could throw you.

And the last sentence should have read I WOULDN'T trust you as far as I could throw you. Your comments about somehow this being my fault have really chapped my butt. And what upsets me more is a society that condones trespassing and stealing. I can't believe you people condone is either. Despicable.

People like to use topix just to argue. You aren't likely to get the best response here. I can understand how you feel. It doesn't matter what was taken, if someone can't respect you enough to stay off your property and leave a cooler alone, what's to say they won't take more or do worse to your property.

You may want to have a talk with the VFW. Maybe they can stress to people renting the hall that your property isn't there property.

Good luck in the future.

"Through a huge fit?" Really?

Your mocking sarcasm kind of loses steam when you mistake "through" for "threw"

Don't worry, the majority of people completely agree with you. Sadly there are lots of people in the world today who get their kicks by trying to argue and hurt others feelings on the internet....especially Topix. They will usually just keep changing their posting name to make it appear that more people side with them than you.
Frankly I think you are very kind to allow people to park in your yard. Not only do you NOT have to do that but you are putting yourself at risk. If someone falls on your property they are going to sue your insurance company and win. I think it is in your best interest to no longer allow that. I agree that you should mark off your property and post signs. I would also start saving money to replace the markings with an actual fence.
Best of luck to you!!!

she doesnt deserve that, nobody does. i agree with u , nobody should steal her stuff & yes you should put up signs or fence . that has been vfw parking for many many years. i didnt know anyone was actualy living in that block building. i agree that there was a very good chance that someone from the party took it but you cant be 100% shure.
