Carpenter charged with capitol murder

A Fulton County man Steven Carpenter, 26, has been charged with capital murder in what authorities say is the brutal murder of a young Stone County man. via The News

We read up here that two Stone County Residents who lived on Oak Street in Mountain View, Arkansas were also charged with Capitol Murder of the young 19 y/o man. So, what is the real scoop?
Be straight, and get it all out there or nothing.

steven carpenter, mark blackford, and a third (cant remember his name, david or something), are held for the murder of kagen futrell. the murder was drug related (dont know if they are reporting that yet) but i went to school with mark and kagen and know lots of other people who knew what was going on.....

Stone County Man Brutally Murdered, Three in Custody

MOUNTAIN VIEW, AR (KAIT)- A young man is found dead in Stone County in what police describe as a brutal murder.

Kagen Futrell, 19, a resident of Stone County, reportedly went missing between Tuesday and Wednesday of last week. His family reported him missing Thursday but it was late Friday that his body was discovered by investigators.

The young man was found beaten and stabbed to death in a wooded area off Parma Road.

Police have arrested three men in connection with the murder. 19-year old Michael Blackford and 34-year old David Tidwell, both Stone County residents, and 26-year old Steven Carpenter of Fulton County are all in custody.

The case will be turned over to the 16th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Don McSpadden for formal charges. No word yet on what those charges may be.

Police also believe that a white 1993 Ford minivan found within a few miles of the body may have been used in connection with the murder. The minivan was apparently stolen from the Pine Wood Cabins in Mountain View the same night that Futrell went missing.

Interesting, this is similar to what we read here in Eureka Springs, however, the 2 stone county men who were also apprehended and charged with murder were not mentioned in the initial news blog. Only the Fulton County man was noted. Why would someone who posted the initial article not mention the other two? Strange? I have heard Stone County keeps alot of secrets.

i am Kagen's cousin and wanted to get everything straight. He was murdered out in the woods because of meth by these three men. 2 went out and actually murdered Kagen while the other stood watch. He was taken out to the woods thinking that the 3 men were to give him meth but actually murdered him. They beat him until he was begging for his life and then he was stabbed. the 3 men went to Wal mart to get some kind of chemical to burn him with and then they wrapped him up to destroy evidence and then buried him with his jaw cut out. He was formally buried on Arpil 3.

Regardless of the reason, murder should not have happened. It's a terrible loss for your family and 3 other families have been destroyed because of it. You're all in a lot of thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for your clarification and guts it took to write what you have. The senseless acts of those who took your cousin's life are beyond that of any understanding except for those lower than life scumb bags who carried out the heinous acts.
One can only hope that they all receive 10 fold plus some for what they have done.

thanks for your support and those who support our family. I hate it when people just talk to talk. thats how rumors get started and everything really needs to be cleared especcially when it does come down to a family member. It hurts to see his his son whos not even 2 yet, and his brothers try and grieve with all of the rumors and things that are going around.

Sorry that you have to go through what you are going through. I would hate to be on that side of the road. I would want my dad to be put through the same thing that he put someone else through. And if you happen to talk to him ask him why he did this to my cousin please.

Our entire family is sorry that something of this magnitude has happened, this is not the norm at all for any of us. I am very sorry that my half brother is capable of doing such a horrible selfless act that affects more people than anyone can imagine. I am very very sorry for the poor man's family that died at these three's hands, but they will have thier judgement day. I have not been close to David in so long because of our differences. But, as of now he is dead to me and I am not the only one in our family that feels that way. Again, I apologize to Kagen's family and know that you are all in our prayers.

He has made a powerful impact on all of us and just because we can't see him physically doesn't mean we can't feel him. I feel him him every day and night. I see him in my dreams sometimes. Sometimes I dream that there is a 4th person who did this to him and not just the 3. I hope that this is not true and it is only just the 3.

I totally agree with you. I hate the fact that they're just sitting there in jail and enjoying all of the tax payers money. They should be put through what they put Kagen through

eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. does arkansas have a death penalty? actually i guess it doesnt matter cause it would be lethal injection anyways which would be a pretty easy way to die....we live in a fucked up government/world.
