I did, but my therapist could not spell. I brought this to her attention, and she terminated our therapeutic relationship.

saddned by POSTED signs

The sad part about mountain view is that almost every swimming hole has been posted. I know that some people do not appreciate the privilege to swim but most of us do, I for one would be glad to pick up trash to be able to swim close to my home. I have lived in the Herpel area all of my life and have went swimming in the creek for most of it, now its all POSTED. My children will not be able to enjoy the beauty of the creek like I did. My ancestors used to live by the creek and owned a good portion of the land. The pog hole swimming area used to be an awesome swimming hole until it got POSTED to. Almost every creek except for the rosa hole is posted. Blanchard gets shut down alot for having E-coli in the water, but what do you expect the water comes out of the caves where the bats poop. I just wish all of the people who post the creeks would open them back up so that we can all enjoy our God given water holes.

I agree that it is sad that the creek areas are mostly posted, but is for good reason. A few "bed apples" spoil it for everyone by leaving trash, doing damage to property, and doing drugs and other illegal activities on the properties.

Re: Posted. Ya I can imagine that they are, I suppose I would probably post it on my property, if I had a creek, just from a liability standpoint. I am sure if someone drowned or were somehow otherwise seriously injured their families would probably be suing the property owners.

You write, as if you are far too intelligent to be moving to Mountain View, Arkansas.
You may be heading to a place in which you find yourself not too happy in after you arrive.
Good luck!

Got News 4 U - Here's a news flash. Mountain View actually has plenty of people who can form a sentence, spell, have college and subsequent degrees, and have a few brain cells to rub together. Come down and visit some time.
Mountain View is a great place.

@ don't drink: Ya it's kind of a shame that people cannot seem to take much personal responsibility these days, that and a combination of too many dang lawyers. City thinking LoL...

@ Got News: We have been here about a two weeks now and I can say we like it a lot so far. I think that happiness is more a state of mind then an effect of people and circumstances around you. I have met some really nice people since we moved here and some that were not so nice, but overall we love it and are planning to stay for a very long time.

Also, and a little off original topic, we are not big drinkers however I can tell you this whole dry county thing has me wanting me a beer; maybe it's just the free thinker in me but I just don't get this prohibition law at all. I would think it would be much better to let the local businesses profit from alcohol sales, if they should see fit, then to let the money go to another county. Just my $.02 I am certainly not trying to come here to change things to my liking, but this is just my opinion.

We live on a creek, gave the privledge of everyone swimming until people started getting drunk and running over and killing cows, cutting fences. People really get tired of it. I know it is unfortunant for the ones that do respect. But as they say, one bad apple can ruin a busshel..
