Anyone have any thoughts/information on the new bank to open here in Mt. View? "Ozark Heritage Bank".
Marvin Sutterfield and some other investors are selling shares ... an investor named Jamie Barnes is also involved according to articles in the NW Arkansas Times and others.
Good deal ... bad deal?
Personally, I would steer clear of Jamie Barnes and Marvin Sutterfield. This is my opinion and I am sticking to it. Go to the courthouse and do some research on Jamie Barnes. It is my understanding he has a interesting past history.

I have actually just finished up some reasearch of my own, spoken to some past associates/family/friends etc ... and have come to the exact same conclusion.

Stay away from it!

Thanks for your help from Eureka Springs!

Marvin Sutterfield is a very experienced loan officer with lots of banking experience and Mr. Barnes is a sucsessful business and land owner in Mountain View. Ozark Heritage is the only locally owned bank with the community able to become stock holders. I have researched and it is secure and FDIC insured. There are also board members that have plenty of banking experience one with the occ., I like the hometown feel and feel more secure with the small banks. Drop in and see for yourself.

Marvin Sutterfield is most reputable. He was over the whole USDA Farm Service Agency banking division for the state of Arkansas for over 20 yrs and retired out of that system. He is reputable and many of the stockholders. Contact the Federal Reserve Bank in St Louis if you are not sure about a bank. And furthermore no, James Barnes is not the most honest character, but he is only a shareholder and board member. He cannot up and run off with your money. Not so easy these days.

O.J. Simpson was very reputable at one time, and so was the BTK Killer. The BTK mass murderer and predator sought out victims in his own community for years, had a family, and lived what appeared to be an upstanding life. His name was Dennis Radar, I believe.

I'm curious, do you personally know these individuals you are comparing to serial killers? It is a bit ridiculous for someone who has no involvement in the situation and does not know the individuals personally to have any say in the matter what so ever. Everyone has the right to their opinion but comparing someone you do not know personally to a serial killer is flat out RIDICULOUS!! If you have had personally dealing with them, then I say man up and say what they did wrong and that goes for everyone who is bad mouthing these people.

I did not read that anyone compared anyone to serial killers. It appeared to me the point was made that "anyone" with a great reputation could be not quite what they appear to be.

I don't think this person should be picked on just for the use of the word 'reputable'. I can attest to his reputation because I have had numberous dealings with him in the banking business both USDA FSA and at the local bank. He has no malicious intent and is a good person, which most people in today's society do not know what that means, but I know he is a good honest man. Anyway back to the point if you are not sure about a bank then ask the Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis, they gave them the government charter which they have to meet rigorous standards to have. Do some factual research and do not put too much bearing on the opinions of this site!

kct, you are correct! People need to do research. Look up facts, interview more than one person and research the issue.

I listened to what everyone had to say, positive and negative.Around the whole area Stone, Clebourne, and Independence counties. Then my family and I bought alot of shares in Ozark Heritage Bank. It is one of the best investments we have been apart of. We also have shares in another community bank in Batesville. I think this bank is going to be a better investment because of the price of the shares and because most of the investers are have recived gas lease money and the bank will do good on deposits and is doing good on deposits. It is the only community owned bank in Stone county. Jamie Barnes is just an investor like anyone else exept he is on the board which rotates every three years. I think alot of people are jelous of Jamie to tell you the truth. This is the best investment around Arkansas In my opionion. I'm from the Batesville area.

JCK has to stand for Joking, Conning and Kidding, Right? Personally, I think your investment sense is minus whatever you have invested, plus some more.

Money these days is safer in a peanut butter jar buried in the backyard than with Congress or Ozark Heritage Bank.

You obviously failed English in High School, did you not? Probably a dropout. Your grammar is horrible, and I would rate your overall intelligence level at approximately the 6th to 7th grade level. In other words, you are an idiot!
You are not only a failure at English, you are also a failure at your attempts to be a "criminal." How's the 5 year plan going for you and your criminal husband?
