I read that some of the scenes from the movie The Miracle of the Bells were shot in Glen Lyon. Are there any sightes to be seen in Glen Lyon regarding this movie?

Wow you people can't spell!!! The movie was shot in St. Michael's church in Glen Lyon which has been torn down. I have the movie and watch it once in a while.

Years ago when I was a kid I used to go visit the cemeteries in Glen Lyon with my mom and stop at the grave of Olga who the movie was made about.
Parts of this movie were also shot in Nanticoke.

Olga Trocki, the girl that the Miracle of the Bells is about, is buried in St. Michael's Cemetary up the hill from Glen Lyon. Scenes from the movie showed people crossing the metal bridge which is still there if you make a right hand turn coming through town from Nanticoke. I just visited Glen Lyon last week. It is sad to see how it has declined as the old timers who took pride in their property passed away. You can buy houses and property inexpensively but there isn't much going on work or entertainment wise there.

I was the movie being filmed when I was a kid at
Doc Killer home in Glen Lion.

I watch the minors come up from the lower level
were the braker use to be and from that same street
you could see the tunner opening were the minors went in.

I don't know the name of that street or the main in Glen Lion. But walking up from that area you walked right by the church.

Also My family use to fish up were the coal company had they water supply and Doc Killer had a large cabin.

My Dad was a state trouper in charge of the Shickshinny sub station.

Yes. St. Adalbert's Church on Market Street, Glen Lyon, has some of the stained glass that was in St. Michael's. It is inside the back of the church (now part of Holy Spirit Parish) and is nicely lit during mass. The statue of Michael the Archangel is also still standing in the area where it used to in front of St. Michael's church on Main Street. During the time the church was being torn down, the statue was temporarily removed to protect it and, it was replaced to honor the site of the church once the demolition was completed.

The Luzerne County Historical Society in Wilkes-Barre has an Olga Trocki/Miracle of the Bells exhibit through March 15, 2013. I haven't been yet, but if you decide to go I suggest you call ahead. I've tried twice and the building has been closed due to heating issues.
