Not to sound cold and heartless - but the United States needs to help out our homeless, hungry, sick, poor, etc. first. What is happening in Darfur is horrendous, but I'm sorry, somewhere along the way we need to expend the effort on our own people. The United States is big brother whenever another country needs aid - but garbage when they don't need anything from us.

I'm as far from being an activist type as one can get, but Darfur is a travesty, a tragedy, and a downright blight on the face of humanity. I agree we need to help those in need here at home, but their "needs" could be considered luxuries once one understands what the children of Darfur are facing. We cannot stand by silently on this one.

Things are still not under control in Darfur. Millions of people continue to die everyday.
