My family and I are looking into moving to Mountain Home after I get out of the military later this year. We have been researching homes and really like the newer homes in the Cobblestone Ridge community. I just wanted to see if anyone had any advice or knowledge of the area, good or bad. Thanks!

The meth, pill, theft, and child molester problems are here, but not as bad as the cities. The police department and sheriffs office and local paper are good about reporting sex offenders if they have not registered. I feel my children are safe here and have no real complaints.
Bring your Repel, dehumidifier, and hiking boots. I like it here. I don't have to worry about gang members trying to rape my son at some crummy apartment complex. Or jumping him on his way to the store.

Wow. First of all, this is a great place to live. It gets pretty dull in the winter, but spring, summer and fall are fabulous with lakes and rivers. If you like to hunt, fish, or play on the lakes, this is the place for you. If you like to shop extensively, eat in high-end restaurants, or visit museums...not for you. Cobblestone Ridge is a little off the beaten path to me, and I probably would want to be either at the lake or in town. If you don't mind having a street of new homes kind of off in the middle of nowhere, I guess it would be OK.
