What does it say about the society we live in when a person values the life of a four legged animal over the life of a fellow human being? It is a damn dog! As far as pit bulls are concerned, you have to remember this breed of dog has been bred for hundreds of years to do one thing, kill. They have powerful jaws to clamp down, and large chest muscles so they can cause damage by violently shaking once they have a firm hold. That is the reason why they are the majority of dogs used for illegal dog fighting in the United States. I have a child, and if I see one running loose in my neighborhood, I will not hesitate to shoot it. You may say you have the right to own any kind of dog you wish, what about my right for my 4 year old son to play in our front yard and not get mauled to death by someone's dog that broke it's chain?

REALLY!!!! its all about the way they are raised and Yes some stupid people do make the breed sound bad..i have one he is a male and he has free roam and he has never touched any child he loves children. He loves everybody until they are mess with his home he protects my family and my home.and my neighbor and sister in law has 2 and they are once again the MOST LOVABLE DOGS EVER.. They are around 3 and 5 yr olds everyday and a new baby on the way we have no worries.. so get your facts before you think everyones pit is out to harm because they are not and I WILL DEFEND THE BREED TIL THE END... Its the stupid people you should be mad at not the dogs...

We are avid pit bull supporters where it is all in how you raise them.. If my 2 pits come running at you they are going to cover you in kisses unless you are aggressive to them or my family. They are my family and they are just big babies unless provoked by harming any of my family especially my 3 and 5 year old. Im due in September and I know my fur babies will protect him as they do the other children! Im in no way scared that they will hurt the baby because we have raised them the proper way. It makes me soooo mad to hear people trash a whole breed. Cant that be doggie racism? The dogs that fight are raised to fight they are not born that way they are taught to be that way by their stupid owners! Punish the owners not the dogs!!

I respectfully disagree. My sister had a pit bull, and I played with her. She was never mistreated and well fed. She got out and tore the neighbor's dog to pieces, and they had to euthanize the dog. She was pretty upset about losing the dog, but it could have easily been one of her children. I would never own a pit bull. I do agree that treatment has a lot to do with how a dog behaves, but I don't believe it is 100%.

It's far from 100% then it comes to Pit Bulls. With all the good dogs out there why would anyone want a Pit Bill? Don't you pit bull morons know if that little doggie gets out and kills or maims someone what's go to happen to you. Along with possible jail time you stand to lose everything you have worked for.
Anytime I see a pit out or in the road I make it a good Pit Bull real quick,

There were 34 dog related human deaths reported in 2012. 13 of those were caused by Pit Bulls or 38% of all dog related deaths. Even the Rottweiler is responsible for a distant 9% in it's rating as the 2nd most deadly dog to humans.(U.S. National Statistics Council) So out of 150 different registered breeds, Pit Bulls were responsible for a disproportionate number of deaths. It's not that the breed can not make a good pet, they can. It is that these dog have so much more killing potential. If my Jack Russell has one outburst of aggression, provoked or otherwise, the outcome might be broken skin on the leg or hand. If a Pit Bull attacks only once in it's lifetime, death or permanent disfigurement is far more likely. They are huge liability to their owner. With all the breeds registered with AKC or UKC, I have to wonder why on earth a person would choose this breed.

First off mine is not on a chain that's cruel. And if he sees a kid he would do nothing more than lick him and want a ball thrown. U sound like u just listen to whatever anti dog people say about them. Grow the f up.

Actually. Cocker spaniels have killed a lot more than them. And I've had a couple of those. And they were sweethearts. So no. breed don't matter. It's how the dog was raised. Size don't matter either. Great Danes can do a number also. I like them too. So think b4 u type.

Well .. I can tell ya because I have owned both Pit bulls and Rotts and they were never mistreated or abused but they both had jealousy issues and they would both snap at any given time and kill another dog at will .. I do believe it is in the nature of the dog.

In my opinion, if your want to own this useless breed then you should be criminally and civilly liable for the actions of the dog. If the dog harms a child, or an adult, then you should be criminally charged as if you yourself inflicted the harm.

You sir are a douche. My dog is like one of my kids && I love him no matter how many legs he has or how many peckerheads like you have a problem with it. I'm sure your mom loves you even though you suck.
