No underlying issues at all. I just know what I know about the man. He was in the right place at the right time with the team that he took to the finals. Talk to any of the players on that team and you will hear that their loyalty was to the team and Coach Johnson. Integrity was not a familiar word in Patrick's vocabulary, ask some of the assistants about some of the things they were asked to do.

I'm not aware of any of the accusations your making and I'll concede that they may be true... but the man knew how to coach..and knew how to calls plays...exploit a weakness in an opposing team...knew his teams limitations and the things they could do and out coached the opposing teams coach almost game in game out...his worst seasons were when he first started his tenure here... K watched our numbers grow from day one because he convinced the kids they could win..he implemented the strategy talked about earlier about getting all grade levels on the same page even down to the pee wee level...our program was growing under his leadership and even
When we lost games we were competitive his teams fought down to the last play of the game.. I never saw a Patrick coached team lay down on him (and his assistants)which deserve some credit for all this no doubt about that and so does Shane Patrick no doubt about that either.. not saying he did everything the right way but the job got done..and what Patrick was good at and in my opinion we won most games this way...he lured a teams defense to sleep with good play call in and then hit them with the home run...I watched this time and time again...once he saw he was getting the opposing teams defense out of position he called the right play for big yardage and touchdowns...again I credit the whole staff

And I'm not speaking of just the Championship season in 06 (I was at that game)...the man was here for 7 yrs,...and again I say I'm not sure that he was a man of integrity maybe he wasn't... but the man knew how to coach the game of footbal...I witnessed it with my own eyes and to say he deserves no credit for the success he had here is just wrong...I would have to say that a program like Springdale did their homework before they hired him...I'm sure they brought someone in that knew the game and watched game film on him...he had a master plan and he was a master at implementing it and a master play caller....ALL INTEGRITY ASIDE

68-7 last night... SCHOOL RECORD 18TH STRAIGHT LOSS...SCHOOL RECORD IN POINTS GIVEN UP....I don't see how our coach and AD show up for work Monday morning... they're responsible for this NOT THE KIDS...and there's a lot of talk around town about this debacle...people are expecting CHANGES.. playing in a tough division.. having to play larger schools..tired of their excuses... which is exactly what they are.....EXCUSES!!!

First of all, last night was atrocious.....there is no excuse for the beat down we took. I don't care if there were 11 sophomores on the field. How many games have we given up a 50+ yard score on the very first play...at least half the games!!

About not letting the kids play other sports. I have talked to Coach Mahan personally about this and he was very supportive of kids playing other sports. In fact, the impression I got was he encouraged kids to play other sports and was only disappointed with the kids that weren't playing othe sports AND not showing up for football workouts during the off season. If you didn't come to a football workout because you were playing another sport...no problem. That is what he told me to my face. Just my two cents on that issue.

In the game of football you have two types of players/teams on the field...you have "hammers" and you have "nails"...we used be "hammers" under our current coach we have become the "nails"...plain and simple

Let me sum up this little topic for all of u. It don't matter what u do, eat, lift. What we lack at this school is BLACKS! That's why we have never been any good. Political correctness aside. Let's b honest. Blacks dominate every major sport including and especially football. Why? They're size. All of our forefathers weren't thinking clearly when they began genetically engineering this race for stronger slaves. The result years later is an overall dominance and usually scary opponent. Don't know if you've ever fone up against one on a line of scrimmage but it can b quite intimidating. Big or not.especially if you've never seen one up close. My advice recruit done blacks. Now u all can call me a racist. I'm sure it's coming.

I can't determine if you are racist from your post so I won't comment on that. What I can determine from your post is that you are dumb...just plain ignorant. Were you at the Cabot game? Can you explain their domination with a bunch of white kids that are the same size as ours? I can...perfect execution of their scheme...nothing else!!

WOW...I wish this forum could somehow filter out comments from people who know absolutely nothing about the topic being discussed..."duh" that's the most ridiculous theory I could have imagined someone posting on here... there's absolutely NO logic in your statement...what our program is suffering from is a coach and AD who are in way over their head and anybody who knows anything about the sport knows that if they attend the games...we have a coach trying to implement the wrong scheme for the athletes he has on the field which I don't think it would matter what scheme he comes up with...I don't think the kids have enough respect for him to execute it...there's a lackadaisical effort being put forth by these kids as result of that and I'm blaming the kids at all..when there's a lack of leadership it would happen to any team at ANY level..the kids don't believe in him and I don't see how anyone could expect them to..he's not head coach material and these kids ain't stupid...they know it.

"Seriously"...let's just say I totally agree with your post...and all that is...is good coaching... I feel sorry for our kids having to endure the effects of poor decision making by our AD who obviously doesn't really know the sport inside and out like an AD should...all of these excuses she's offering up really puts that on display... such as her comments before the NLR game.." another larger opponent"..."out manned" she sounds ridiculous.. excuses excuses and how can our kids believe in what themselves and the coaching staff with her making comments like that..sounds as if she's consenting defeat before the game is even played..also sounds like she's trying to cover her a**..surely our superintendent, board members, booster club members can see through the smoke screen she's trying to put up.

I truly feel sorry for them. I never cared bout them and laughed every Saturday morning I would open the paper and seen they lost again. however im at the point of truly praying for them cause this has to hurt these kids....

First off Morgan. Tejcek is a great and correct hire. He should have had this job first go around instead of Blevins. Have had two boys play for him and he will turn this program around.
As far as the football program, yes it's a joke. Starts with the 7th grade up. Yes, we have kids walking the halls that should be or had been playing. When your 9th grade team plays 6-7 kids both ways and special teams. With 40 or so kids on team, that's ridiculous. Was basically the same in 8th grade. To top it off, the last game of the season they had 4 or 5 8th graders starting while 9th graders didn't play.
Prior to varsity, we need to keep these kids in the program. These coaches have no idea how these kids will physically mature. My one son quit the program a few years back after 8th grade. Lack of playing and he loved football. When he graduated he was 6'0 215lbs and as strong as an ox. So the kids are there that could help this program, just not enough of them playing in it. There isn't a championship for 7th-JV.

Glad someone finally spoke up, maybe if there was some radification the 30 boys who are sitting out the year will come back next year. These boys-most- have been playing since pinkston and are players who love the game, fellow players and sports in general and have choosen to sit out the first year of high school, then there is a huge problem, forget your stupid scores, listen to the kids for a change, it is thier game. HUGE PROBLEM.

They know he's not respected by the players and he's never gonna take this team or any other to where they wanna be and they want to play for a winner..I've heard this from too many kids

The respectful fear they need to have is not there..there's a certain amount of fear a child needs to have of their father...dad's discipline is always tougher than mama's and that's a good thing..that's why single mothers for the most part have a hard time raising kids when they hit the teenage years.. although there are exceptions to every rule....right now we have "mama" coaching our football team

There's a certain amount of barbarianism in the game of football a large amount of it I might add..and it requires a certain type of individual to get that out of these kids...they must play like barbarians and I don't see that at all from Mahan's teams like we did under the former coaching staff
