I highly discourage any woman to allow this MONSTER to touch or deliver her. He is cocky and inconsiderate, and doesn't seem to give a damn about whether the mother is having difficulty during child birth.
He constantly acts like he has better things to do during visits and shows no compassion what-so-ever.
He makes a point to boast his "achievements" as if he needs to reassure himself, then turns around and makes an ass of himself by being proved wrong.

Doesn't have a lot of sympathy for women with menopausal problems...Went back to him after my hysterectemy for hormone problems...He just told me it was to be expected...Well duh, I wanted help with it. Did not want to feel like an idiot for going to him for help...Love Amanda Thorton...Highly recommend her

I wasn't real impressed with him either, until I was in labor..he was really professional and knew exactly how to handle the emergency that occurred. He handled it swiftly and saved my daughter's life! I am very thankful for choosing him as my Dr. I feel if I had chosen another Dr, my daughter might not be a growing, healthy baby coming up on her 1st Birthday next month! Thank you Dr Barrow!

AW! I'm glad that you had a better experience with him!! That is wonderful that your daughter is doing well! happy early birthday to her!

I'm sorry about how rude I sounded when I posted this thread, but he cause a great deal of problems when my sister was there to have her bay. he was great up until the visit right before she was to be induced; that last visit and when she went in to have my nephew was hell. absolute hell. He was so rude and arrogant and down right hateful. I cannot believe he talks to patients the way he does.
There was a younger nurse learning how to check dilation and such that stayed in the room the whole time. she was in her early pregnancy and by the time it was all said and done she said "well I was thinking about using him, but I think I will use __ instead" I cannot remember the DR. she said, but she wasn't too impressed with Barrow

Patient of Dr Barrow

United States

#12 Oct 21, 2009
I have been a patient of Dr. Barrow for 7 years now & I have NO complaints what so ever,He is always super friendly with me & my husband when I have been to him & if I have anymore children I will most definitely use him again for my OB.I still use him as my gyn.I also really like Dr. Shultz,He delivered my youngest son as Dr.Barrow was out of town(It was his weekend off),He has a great bedside manner very friendly but also professional which is the same way Dr. Barrow treats me,I have never had his "Achievements" told to me by him or his staff.
I also want to add just like anything in life you are going to find people that love Dr. Barrow & people who don't like him(everybody has their own experiences & no one Dr. is right for everybody, you have to find one that is right for you). Also alot of people do not realize that sometimes hospital policies keep Dr.'s from doing things that a patient wants,You can name any Dr. & you are going to get positive & negative stories about them.
I just wanted to share a positive experience about Dr. Barrow,He has been my Dr. with my youngest 4 children & as I said before he will be my Dr. if I decide to have anymore.
BTW..I drive all the way from Williford to Mountain Home to use him as a OB/GYN because good Dr.'s are hard to find and I feel he is the right Dr. for me.

My wife and I had both of our children delivered by Dr. Barrow and coming from the Husbands side, he was awesome always made me feel comfortable. I really don't think everyone on this post knows what there talking about specially the one trash talking him that turns out not to even be his patient but his patients sister. take it from a proud father of two healthy girls. Don't change Doctors. at least until you meet him.

I had Shultz deliver my child and he was great throughout the pregnancy as well as the delivery. I highly recommend him. I haven't hear a negative thing about him yet although I have heard bad news on Barrow. If we were to have another child, I would definitely go to Shultz.

As a male registerd nurse and a recent (5 month old) father whose wife used Dr Barrow; I attended every appointment with her, through the pregnancy. I can speak from recent and proffesional observation. Dr. Barrow is very intellegent and has could easily talk over a patients knowledge level. His accurate and timly use of his skills impressed me during delivery even though it was a busy day in the hospital he deliverd 3 babies within 30 minutes of each other. The reason for induction of delivery to me is often for the convenience of the Dr., but in some case it is for the welfare of the mother and child. I will use Dr. barrow for any and all further children. If a patient does not trust or believe the Dr. is acting in thier best intrest get another Dr.; However, my wife made child birth look easy. I have worked the womens center in the past during rotations in school and have witnessed, that there are just plain difficult patients, just like brides, Dr barrow may have a level of civility that is lower than was required to deal with your sister. After all you are called patients for a reason. The level of ones patients can be streched too far.

Dr.Barrow delivered all 3 of my children. He is a great Dr. and also saved my sons life. The cord was around his neck and he was barely breathing. He refused to leave me until my son was delivered, he had a woman about to deliver in the next room but her babies vitals were fine. Therefore the nurse delivered her baby and he delivered mine as quickly as possible. All of my children are healthy and growing strong. I love him and his staff. I think he is misunderstood alot because he is a jokester and tries to lighten the mood...after all it is not the most comfortable place to meet someone for the first time.
