phone calls-put sign in yard?-Scam??

Anyone else get an automated phone call about putting a sign in your yard? Something about information from the FBI saying something? At the end it was saying push 1 for something and 9 for no call list.
Now I am wondering if it did something when you pushed the numbers, something other than what they were saying. A scam of some sorts?

Be careful there are some scams that when you press a certain number on your phone you are giving them permission to take over your phone service and long distance. Just to be safe, I would call your local phone company on Monday when they open and tell them to check your account and make sure there were no orders to change service and to note your account that if an order does come in, not to accept it and you did not authorize that. Better to be safe than sorry.

Great idea, I will do that.

Watch your 'third party billing' section of your phone bill.
I bet there will be a charge! It will take about 3 months to get the fee removed. Centurylink will tell you they have no control over 3rd party billing. Then they will try to sell you a service for $4.99/mo for the privilege of them blocking third party billing -- ripoff.
That does not guarantee that you will not be third party billed -- some may still get through!

Thank you for the info. I will watch for the third party billing too. Yikes!
