I heard on the scanner last night that they had a call from Shoun's Manor (I think). They said the caller said there was a rattlesnake in their apartment. Has anyone heard anything about whither they found one or not?

I for one say the only good snake is a dead one.If they do have to let some out they should not let out poison ones that can kill people.
I agree

If those rattlesnakes bites and kills some one will TWRA be held liable? Just wondering and I agree the only good snake is a dead one.

Is it true that a Black Snake will kill a Copperhead on instinct?

Yes, it is true, and I will kill it on instinct. And its mama and daddy and brothers and sisters if I find them. I don't kill blacksnakes, corn snakes, water snakes, etc., because they eat insects and rodents. But when we have to deal with poisonous snakes, we have to protect ourselves. What about logging, woodcutting for the fall, stacking lumber, working in outbuildings and sheds?
I object.

Is it true that it is illegal to kill a snake in Tn? I am having a hard time finding any accredited information on the subject!

Yes it is illegal. If you go to the TWRA website
and click on the option for "wildlife watchers" on
the left side of the screen it will take you to a new screen where you can select "snakes of Tennessee". On the opening page there is a statement under the TWRA logo that cites the law.
As far as danger goes, it's more dangerous to
drive or walk across a street...every venomous
snake has the option of injecting venom or not.
In most cases bites are "dry" bites meant to
warn the person to leave the snake alone.

I've walked along these streets several times... I've come close to getting snake bit numerous times. once a cursed rattlesnake tagged the cuffs of my pants and ended up hitting the top of my shoe. if it had of stuck just a few millimeters lower it would have stuck flesh instead of getting swung into my shoe. the worst part was I never heard it or saw it until after it struck. I apparently come up on it in surprise.
now I know who to sue if a rattlesnake bites me.
I will say this if it comes between me and a snake. the snake will lose.
