What you are talking about is the vote on the Alcohol to be sold in Mountain City that is on the City Election to take place this Saturday when they Vote for Alderman.Vote yes and lets keep some money in Mounatin City and Johnson County cause if people want it they will get it so why have them take money out of the county.Vote yes and keep all the money in the county we can.

You are so out of it that I am reluctant to do anything that will increase the probability that you will vote. If all you know about this issue is what you're "hearing", then you are too uninformed to be voting. Nevertheless, here's the story.

Tomorrow, March 28, 2009, there is an election for registered voters in Mountain City, TN. Voters will be electing two aldermen and voting on a referendum to allow sale of wine and spirits (but not beer) for consumption on premise IN THE TOWN of Mountain City. In other words, voters in the town are being asked whether or not restaurants in the town should be allowed to sell wine and liquor by the drink if they choose to do so.

I know it's 2009 and everyone wants change, but Mountain City has always been a conservative town. Why not hold on to that value.

I vote for postive change for this county. I vote to be able to by alcohol where I live instead of having to go out town or state for that matter to buy a bottle wine. This county needs postive change. It is time to sweep out the old conservative thinking. I think it would be good for growth and area businesses not to mention the people who shop in the community.

As far as I have heard, Red Tail has been zoned as part of Mtn. City! Are the blue collar working class not good enough to share the same privlages as the upper class? We promise not to sit down at the table with our ball cap turned around backwards!

Okay so You are possibly a "Blue Collar Worker"
Why don't you brush up on your english skills!
Privileges" is the correct spelling. Not Privlages and for another thing "You shouldn't sit down at the table with your cap on period! Let along backwards" Didn't your parents teach you "good manners"?

There are some churches who have pulled out the stops. People have been given marching orders. People are trying to convince others to keep evil out of town. Gotta suggest to them that Jesus made wine for a wedding, not for an everyday meal---true--- but for a wedding.
I think there are worse things in Mtn. City than having a beer with your pizza.

Huh??? What, "conservatives" don't have drinks with their restaurant meals? "Conservatives" prohibit other people from having drinks with their restaurant meals? "Conservatives" don't let private restaurant owners decides whether or not they'll sell drinks to their patrons?

So your real specialty is ad hominem attacks, not discussing the topic at hand. Both of my parents are deceased, but thank you for your concern about their role in raising me! The ball cap scenario was just that, a scenario. Thank you for spell checking my last post, I'm just so damn dumb. Do you have an opinion on what I was originally talking about?

If you're going to carry on like a rational human being and actually try to conduct an actual conversation, you are NOT going to fit in here.

I'm not saying that "conservatives" don't have drinks with their restaurant meals in moderation. but that's just it to be considered conservative, all things are done in "moderation". I don't object the action.

Why should the churches make decisions for the adults in this community? Are the adults unable to make their own decisions? If someone wants a beer with their pizza or wine with their Italian meal, why can't the adult be allowed to make their own decision if they want a drink?

Hope it passed, cause if they want it,they are going to get it so why make them drive out of the city to get it.It is not like they have to go to far can get it less than a mile out of town on 421 north or south.
