Hasn't Jailer Mink sat in on all these escapes?I bet the Sheriff is certainly proud of him. It seems that he is certainly a great help to the department!

It should have been fixed when it was told to them. I guess Roger just thought it would never happen. So why fix it, just leave it for someone else. Maybe he felt it wasn't his problem and let Mike find out on his own. But I do agree it needs fixing so lets give him some time. Support your local law enforcement.
I would support them IF they had any sense.

Johnson County escapee captured after three weeks on the run

Johnson County, Tenn., prison escapee Robert Randall Deluca was apprehended after a cross-border high speed chase Thursday night.

Deluca, 48, escaped from the Johnson County (Tenn.) jail on Saturday, Oct. 13, by allegedly jumping over the fence surrounding the facility.

Officers in Watauga County and Johnson County have been on the lookout for the escapee, believing Deluca may have returned to the Zionville area, his last known address.

Robert Randall Deluca

Deluca was spotted on Old U.S. 421 at 10:45 p.m. Thursday by Johnson County sheriff's deputies. He was reportedly driving a Toyota pickup. Johnson County officers gave chase, as Deluca headed toward North Carolina at speeds between 70 and 80 mph.

Watauga County sheriff's officers responded immediately when told he was headed toward the state, as did Trooper Shane Adams of the N.C. Highway Patrol. Deluca crossed into Watauga County, turning onto Kirby Branch Road. At the end of the road, Deluca left the vehicle and ran on foot to escape pursuing officers.

Lt. Tim Wilson, Sgt. Chip Wicker, deputy Todd Lyons, deputy Adam Lentz and Adams gave chase, assisted by K-9 deputy Boco. Deluca was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

A Watauga County magistrate issued a fugitive from justice warrant, and Deluca is being held at the Watauga County Detention Center without bond. Tennessee officials have began the extradition process to transfer Deluca back to Tennessee.

The truck used in the high speed chase had been reported stolen in North Carolina and allegedly displayed a fictitious license tag. Officials said at the time of arrest Deluca was also alleged to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Deluca was originally held in the Johnson County jail on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and assault on a a government official.
