Someone posted on here that he was in the Early stage of Alzheimers. If that's true, does anybody know if he used a cellphone before he was diagnosed with Alzheimers and whether or not he took his cellphone with him on his walks?
If he was in the early stages of his condition and had known how to use a cellphone before he was diagnosed, then he was not far enough along in the disease, to be unable to use it to call for help if he got lost.
I know because my Mother died from the complications of Alzheimers.
From news reports, this person has had alzheimers for 3 yrs or so. I believe reports were that he did have some type of electronic device, but didn't have with him. The road he had taken leads to mountains where there is a waterfall, "Cherokee National Forrest".

I just don't think, from what's been posted, that aside from an accident of some kind, that he's just "lost". I think it's more than likely, that he has met with foul play of some sort.

Oh wow...that's bad. He may still be out there, then, somewhere! My Heart goes out to him and his worried Wife and Family. It has to just be nothing less than horrific, what they are All going through.

Uh, yes ma'am, but I do not think you have immersed yourself in this situation! Because he was not rescued that first night (heavy rain, low of 47 degrees) he would not have survived.
I would describe his family as grieving rather than worried. Yes, it is sad that his body is still out there, but....

It just all seems so sad and I can't help but think what if it had been my Mom or my Dad. They're both gone now, but had something like have happened to them, words just can't describe how painful it would have been. I'm sure it's the same for this Gentleman's Family, as well.

Has this man just been forgotten or are they still looking for him?

His family had a "thank you" get together for the search and rescue, so I guess that means they are done looking.

Sad...Maybe someone will find him when Spring gets here and people get out walking more. If he's even there. I just wonder if someone picked him up to rob him or something like that. Either way it's so sad.
