At the last two meetings of the Antelope Valley Conservation District, A citizen has asked the board members if they have family working for the district. At the first meeting the president (kathleen Burr) was not there, but the buisness manager Miss. Gordan looked speechless for she looked like she was burned by a hot poker. Although miss gordan was silent, all the other directors who showed up said they had no family members working for the district. with the president missing and miss Gordan speechless, the man said he would return.At the december meeting president Burr was present along with miss gordan. the man again asked the same questions about family relationships. president Burr was silent and miss Gordan refused to answer any questions unless submitted in wrotong. President Burr moved on to the next subject without answering the mans questions and concerns.

To wrap this up that miss Gordan is President Burr's sister.

why do they not just answeer the mans questions. i feel they are hiding something and wont tell. im sstarting to wonder myself what kind of people we let run our city. its disturbing

If this is true, they both should be fired. i have a cousin that lives in lancaster that says there is alot of corruption in the antelope valley.

There does appear to be a lot of corruption. Just look at avhidesert.com . Read about Rex Paris, the family being stalked by an alleged informant, etc. As for Ms. Burr I heard she cancels public meetings as she sees fit, then calls special closed meetings. I also heard about the family member thing.

I heard that Miss Burr cancelled the january meeting for no reason, maybe she is afraid of more questions

It is no one’s business what relationship president Burr and Business manager Danette Gordon have. Danette is well paid but she’s worth it. Thing’s at the A.V.R.C.D. have never been better President Burr is running the AVRCD with a firm hand and is in solid control of the board of directors with her leadership skill’s. there are a few troublemaker’s but they are being dealt with. In retrospect sometimes it’s best to stay out of things that are not your concern

I see that ms.burr's firm hand has caused a lawsuit problem. I am sure that Dannet Gordon is worth it when she places her kids and husband above performance at work. being paid $28 an hour for 8 hours a day and giving less than 4 hours ( most on the internet) is priceless. your firm hand is destroying the AVRCD (you alreadytried once and failed, you going to try again). Spending 1000s of hours and cash chaseing freebees (grants) and hand outs has resulted in wasted resources and money. How many have you got (0). It is time for you to step down and allow someone else a chance to screw it up, maybe not.
You spend more time with your horse than at meetings. Your firm hand has violated the Brown act so many times my freind lost count.
You are wasting everybodies time every time you don't show up after announcing a meeting, you don't even pay attention to the mission statement. You have a firm hand at power grabbing and incompetance, GET OUT

yes I am aware of the sister-snivelers and their complaint about getting a stomach ach when certain dir's ask for papers of copies of doc's. I am also aware of a dir being set up by doing favors for the pres, then she threatens to turn him into his boss, whom she sleeps with.

I hear that Buuurrrppp is still protecting her niece's from any scrutiny on their productivity in the office. Most Government agencies have to file weekly work sheets, Buuurrrrp won't allow any such discretion to happen to her loyal minunions. Rumor has it that there is a ton of incompetence and fraud floating around.

OH by the way people be very careful because the Pres is extremely adapt at playing High School games, setting people up for ???? and is very vindictive.

If you were at last nights meeting, you would have heard ms. pres and her "niece" talk about the fact that she does do weekly worksheets that show exactly how many hours she worked on certain projects. So.... yes, she was defending her in that area. You will also see that a certain directors husband, who likes to stick his nose in at the wrong time and yell at the staff and directors, jumped on her case after they had already settled the situation. Then after she explained that this was just talked about and taken care of, he backed down and apologized. You really need to be at these meetings instead of hearing crap second hand.

i was also at that meeting. "Idiot" must have been at a different meeting than me, but a man (not sure if director's husband or not) did get rather opinionated about the timesheets ONLY after when the president told the board that they were not really needed.

U gotta be kidding me. That president has violated the brown numberous times, missed meetings that she has called and wasted the taxpayers money....tell me one good things she has done for the AVRCD????
