It's bad enough when one parent is this stupid, but both? You almost think they were HOPING that someone would steal the running vehicle with the baby inside!

This is so sad. If they didn't want to wake the child, why didn't one parents stay with the baby while the other went into the store. Guess they never thought how the poor baby felt when they awoke to no one around them. This is pure stupidity! Some people don't deserve to have children. They don't realize what a blessing they truly are. Glad the baby is okay!

WTF is wrong with so called parents now a days??? I'm tired of hearing how children are treated badly. With so many different options of birth control and the morning after pill, there is no reason a child should be here unless the parents want the kid. IF you can't keep your kids safe & healthy don't have any!

Any idiot can have a baby...a better story, someone opens the car door, takes the baby to the local police after calling 911 to say what it is they are doing and having the parents get in their car, drive home and not even realize the baby is missing. THEN maybe they'd learn their lesson-not everyone is fit to be a parent.

There is a blessing here. Perhaps now the baby will recieve the love and care it deserves from someone who is willing to adopt her, because surely the State will take the child away. No one can justify what was done, THERES JUST NO EXCUSE.
I know first hand about neglectfull parents because I'm raising my beautiful grand children because their parents are selfish and put themselves first with no reguard for the childrens welfare. Satan obviously has control of this couples lives and this is GODS way of saving an innocent child. I love my grand children with all my heart and I'm doing what GOD called me to do and I know he will put the right people in place to take care of this child. With the help of GOD maybe these people will realize just how bad theres lives have become and seek the LORD for his grace.

First off let me state that I have a beautiful 9 month old little boy and I would never dream of doing something like this, but the fact that everyone is so quick to judge here is sad. My wife and I are members of several local parenting groups, one of which we had the opportunity to meed a lovely couple who just moved to the area from Sweden. At the first meetup they left their child in the car to sleep because that was common behavior in their homeland. We explained to them that was unacceptable and dangerous behavior around here and they were very apologetic. Just because the couple in the article showed a severe lack of judgment does not mean they do not love their child. Hopefully they will learn from this mistake and we can all be grateful that nothing happened to the child.

ok beat up on these people, charge them, take the kid.

But in Red Lion a pastor and his wife forget a kid in their car, she dies and is never charged. They have other children, no one took them....no one condemned these people, charged these people or took their kids.

Um yeah, justice is fair and balanced.

Don't even try to rationalize this. The left a baby in a car. The car was unlocked. The car was running. That's three stupid things. It's no accident or slip of the mind. And then the excuse, mommy had to use the restroom. Did daddy have to go along to wipe her butt?

This is the reason people should have to apply to have a child....

Hopefully someone steps in and takes the baby away. What moron would leave a running, unlocked vehicle in a target parking lot, let alone with a BABY in it? And if the mother was simply using the bathroom, why couldn't she go in alone? And for 21 minutes?
That baby could have choked on her vomit while those two morons held each others hands in the bathroom...

When you become a parent, the only thing that is important about your own life from there on, is to stay healthy and properous enough to give that child the very best you can give, being ever so mindful of your childs care and their eventual relationship with GOD and CHRIST. In fact you must gladly give your life for them if necessary. Remember it only takes one, single, solitary, bad decision and the worst possible thing could happen. You forget just how powerful satan is. If he cant persuade you, affect you, or steel your joy, he will just use somone else to do it for him. That includes murderers, kidnappers, molesters, and even somone you know including your very own family. So when you say thankfully nothing happended to the child you are not giving credit to GOD because he willed this to happen and we can only assume it was to protect this child. I cant understand why at the same time this occured, that someone elses baby was taken and killed, but I do know that it was not GODS will and certainly some proper means of protection from the childs care giver was not provided for that child. Remember when you decided to have a child, hopefully for his or her sake, you realized what you were getting into. I would like to point out to you that children are only on loan to you from GOD and they are precious in his eyes. They are a gift to you from GOD and eventually must be given back to him. If you cannot or will not take care of them properly, then you will lose them, but you wont have a choise as to how. Just loving children is not nearly enough in this country, and it really never was.

I never said that what they did wasn't "stupid". Nor did I infer that it was an "accident or slip of mind". They are most likely new parents that made a mistake. They probably left the car running because it was cold outside and the doors unlocked because the only key that had was in the ignition. I know that when My child is sleeping I am remiss to wake him. The real shame is that we live in such an unsafe society that this is a problem.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Libra

Remember that life isn't all fun and games: handle your responsibilities first, then plan how to have a good time. Your impulses, once you yield to them, will have a tendency to lead you further and further from where you need to be. Make sure you lock the door behind you before disappearing; when you're in this kind of mischievous mood, you probably won't want anyone else to know where you're going.
