Doesnt that area have a place or park for kids to play? If not, maybe they should consider it in the future.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the young boy and the young man who had the unfortunate action of running into him on the street.

Not taking away from the seriousness of your question the answer is yes. However not everyone goes where you expect them go especially kids. Adults should understand this and unfortunately you get tragic incidents such as this.

The young boy goes to school with my kids, and get on the bus with them at the same stop. I have tried to drill street safety into my children but I can't always be there to watch over them.

I don't like the intersection near where this accident occurred because of the layout of the right of way in the traffic control.

So he passed away?

There has been no word that anything changed other than he is in the hospital. The post from the child's "best friend" would be a 5th grader. I'm not sure that is the best source of information. Until there is a public statement, we should all keep this boy in our prayers.

A kid about 12 or so "sailed" out in front of my sedan at
Eastern Blvd. & Mill Str. Very nearly hit him, I often
have wished I knew who his parents are.....I'd like to tell
them about it.

My boys go to school with this boy and we received a letter home with out children yesterday from the principal stating that he was still in critical condition at Hershey Medical Center as of Tuesday 11/04/08. I was directly behind the truck that hit this boy but it was just around the corner so I didn't actually see it happen (thank goodness). I keep thinking 10-15 seconds later and it would have been me who hit the boy. I will post an update if/when I hear anything new.

oops, should have spell checked - we received a letter home with OUR children, not OUT children.

This accident didn't happen at an intersection. It's just a street. There's nothing wrong with the street.

It seems like that boy should of listened to the cop when he saw him because the police told him to stay off the road while skateborading . And he has been dead for 8 months and the marks on the rail road tracks are still kind of there but I think Penn Dot or something must of cleared the spot.

Rebecca - So many horrible posts by you on the various articles written about this accident. Since you do not seem to know the name of "that boy" (although you claim to know so many things), I will enlighten you on his name - it's Tristan. Do the world a favor ->Grow a brain and stop believing everything you read and watch on television. THINK!
