"John Stidham, 46, is currently at the Knox County jail awaiting trial on 26 counts, including complicity in the commission of aggravated theft that involves the theft of more than $400,000 from Tracy and Mills Surveyors of Mount Vernon. Stidham's ex-wife, Cami Stidham, 36, faces a grand-theft charge alleging theft from Tracy and Mills Surveyors, her employer, between June and November 2010. She is free on a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to go to trial on July 26." And now they've got a dead guy in their septic tank? It must suck to be them.

Where are you picking up any clue that "he was getting things together"? Having read the article three times looking for where you obtained your conclusion and finding none, I am baffled by your remark. Sounds to me like a person who lived by the sword, died by the sword. No doubt, the killer(s) were also criminals.

Don't judge all of Knox County and the area by all the events that have happened here in the last year --- no worse than me judging Westerville or any other city!@!!! But I assume Westerville must be free from crime????

Do an internet search as to the activities of one Matthew Hoffman during November, 2010. There's another unsolved murder from late 2009 - Jean Davis was shot to death on a Sunday morning as someone stole her vehicle and she caught them on her way to church. She lived just a few miles from the Stidhams. And, due to a technicality, a chase that started in Licking County on July 1 ended in a murder/attempted murder in Knox County.

Which would indicate that these things can happen anywhere... small towns, rural settings and big urban areas alike. Knox Co. has had it's share in the past year or so and I'm sure all the residents hope that life can return to "normal" soon! Would be interesting to see the murder rate per capita of some of these places; I'll bet Knox Co. still comes out rated as a pretty safe.
