Knox County too lenient in hate crime, teen's mother says

Activists are saying the punishment wasn't strict enough in a Knox County case in which a teenage boy was convicted of a hate crime.

How unfortunate that there seem to be some issues surrounding the investigation.

What concerns me is CAIR who has verified ties to funding terrorist groups is involved in this. Perhaps Bakak Darvish could explain the meeting CAIR had with the Muslim Brotherhood who doesn't lynch non-believers they behead them.

This is America and we are Americans which is why people immigrate here. Be a straight American instead of hyphenating with another ethnic group's name.

This is horrible and no one in Mount vernon ohio knows anything about what happened!!!! I think the boys who tried hanging him should have gone to court for attempted murder and I agree with the boys mother completely! Mount Vernon police are racist!!! And their is racism still going on at the public schools and no one does anything about it!

the cops went to the family first ! after they had heard rumors , huh maybe if the mom would have known what her son actually does while running the streets , maybe a little more supervision of her son , after all he went back down town after he had gotten a message about another fight happening ,
its too bad the dispatch only printed partial truths , after all the stories have changed ,

Oh like every parent watches her teenager ALL THE TIME? COme on, be realistic! If you had any teens you'd know they will do stuff on their own and you can't be their holding there hand every minute!!!!

And the kids who did this should get some help, all parties should in this situation!!!! Kids/teens are growing up and every situation they go through affects them in different ways through out life! So put some sympathy into the boy and just because he was hispanic doesn't meet he imigrated he could of been born here and raised you don't know that. Just because someone is hispanic doesn't meen anything! Their are american hispanics and hispanics who speak fluently etc!!! Don't judge!!!!!

Everyone is different, you should not assume anything about someone just because they look different and think they are illegal imigrant!!! They could have become an american citizen and speak perfect english and a good person!

The law finds the parent of any minor child to be responsible for their actions whether it be good or bad.

Of my 5 teenagers they know fully well there's no game when it comes to being where they said they would and their mother & I have also made it perfectly clear if this isn't the case there are severe consequences for their actions. The difference is there are real consequences for the actions.

Parents you are responsible for the actions of your minor children it's not the communities responsibility to do your job for you.

Unfortunately the mother of the young man seems to have made race the issue.

but I do know what my teen does and I do know where my teen is .
My teens realized at a real early age , that they would never know when or where Id be standing there watching them .
I taught them not sneak , my oldest hated the fact that where ever my oldest teen went , was told whos kid that the teen belonged too .
I have one more teen to go , and this teen knows ,
better be where ya say you are , better be there when picked up ,,
that and the fact my teens never knew who and when some one I know would be watching them ,
