Calgon, good luck on catching this guy. I have my son every weekend and have been paying child support for 13 years and would never try to avoid it. No way i could look him in the eyes and tell him "sorry you couldnt have the name brand clothes kiddo, but i just didnt wanna give up my party cash." Grow up dead beats. I pay on time and still buy him clothes and necessities because i want to, not because the court said i have to. I have lived in Aurora for 10 years and never heard of this guy Calgon, but i will keep my ears open.

I am so tired of women having the say (re abortion, etc), but men have to pay. When will we women quit harping about what a BAD DAD we chose to sleep with and take responsibility for ourselves?

??? take responsibility. Part of responsibility is paying. there also other responsibility to being a parent. But he chooses to do none of them. It wasn't a one night stand we were together for nine yrs. In the beginning he was a good dad but thought drinking was more fun.

Promoe, it is nice to be appreciated. Personally, I wish that my gender would put on their big girl panties and quit trying to "cherry-pick" from what they call "equal rights." Lest they forget, "equal rights" should also include: 1. That they be just as likely as a man to lose custody of their children;
2. That they be the subject of child support enforcement;
3. That they (like the men) actually do hard time for killing their children-or anyone else for that matter;
4. That a man "murdering" a "fetus" is not committing a murder at all, rather he is exercising a "choice";
5. That men should have the "right" to paternity testing on site at the hospital BEFORE signing the birth certificate. By the way, the cost of the testing should be split between the man and woman "equally."
It would be nice to see the men organize for "equal rights" the same way that the women have done. Can you imagine a world where we paid as much attention (and money) to causes that affect men, to wit: breast cancer research vs. prostate cancer research.

Ozarkian,
let me give you just a little bit of history about my self. In 1977 I went tru a divorcement.having two babies, I was bound and determine I was not going to pay the price for what she was doing wrong.I went to court and legally won "FULL" custody of my two children.I wish more men would stand up for their rights and stop caving in to women,thinkin they'll let the wife have everything encluding the kids,hoping they will come back. By the way, I recieve nothing!!!! in support

Hey Cal,ever stop to think that a gold brick mother usually marries a dead beat dad?..If he is a dead beat dad now, he was probably one when you crawl in the sack with him.But I suppose ur like many others .you need some income to support ur new boy friend

I understand. Ya know, I just don't think this roofer guy is living an outlandish lifestyle. I am not sure if he was married to our man-hunter with whom she chose to have 2 children with (she does not say). If not, it sounds to me like 1 or the other of them never intended a lifelong commitment. Maybe she should have thought that through before the 2nd one came along. I am happy for you that you got your kids. You should be getting child support, however. If we are going to make the noncustodial parent pay, that should mean that men get paid by the woman when they get lucky and have custody. I know of men who have custody of their kids, pay the bills, and then still pay the woman child support for the PRIVELEGE of keeping and paying for his own children so they won't be drug back into court. There are also men paying child support for children who are not biologically theirs thanks to the courts who have ruled that men defrauded by women must pay child support IF THEY DO NOT WITHIN 2 YEARS QUESTION PATERNITY. Then it is too late for the duped dad. Maybe Cargon should look at her own behavior to try to determine if SHE is the reason he does not want to be found and/or if SHE drove him away from his own children. Obviously, Cargon has a computer. I wonder if her roofer ex-bedmate is able to afford the luxury. My history: divorced and remarried, 3 children (2 boys and 1 girl); all my kids have served in the U.S. Military and therefore, earned their way through college. My ex-husband would help with child support and the kids could live with whichever parent THEY chose. When they were with him, I paid the same amount of child support. NO COURT ORDER. Imagine that. Putting the kids first for a change. How about the next time someone whines about what someone else should be doing for them, think about what you can do to help yourself.

umm for you're info its calgon. Yes I have a comp. I paid for. Same with my house and vechile and anything else i want or kids need for the last 6 yrs. I wanted out of the relationship sometimes it doesn't work. that is no reason to abandon kids. If he can't afford a comp. that is his problem. I guess youre ok with the guy just leaving the kids. For you're info i have no boyfriend nor need one. You are also ok with business paying under the table so the dad doesn't have to pay child support. It is great that you're situation worked that way for you I wish it could for my kids but right now it isn't an option since he hasn't even called in years. Not even his own parents know where he is. You have an ex are you the reason he left? I didn't come on her to justify my life or situation. I was just wondering if anyone could help me with any info.

Hi Calgon. I left my ex husband. Not that it is your concern. After all, I am not the one on the internet asking for help. It sounds to me as if you have fared better monetarily than your ex. Why would you want to take from him what apparent little he has already? Maybe you should be paying him alimony (or palimony) since you seem to be better off financially than he is. That is what men would be forced to do for women. Maybe if you goal was primarily to rejoin him with the kids as opposed to your own monetary interest, I would wish you better luck. I hope you have not been poisoning their minds with how bad their father is. That is not healthy for your kids. Obviously, to us, you are describe him as a drunk. Hopefully, the kids do not hear this babble whether it is true or not. By the way, I also never took him to court for child support, spousal support, or anything else. And yes, he made plenty more money than I did. I think my kids are all the better for it. We did not have a computer though!

Cargon, Cargon. What a sad day it is that in the United States of America we have people like who you are glorified victims and do not see the truth for what it is. You live your life a victim and are bitter at the world. Unfortunately, your children could learn to be professional victims and bitter, too. Your children only are a concern of mine when you start dipping into my tax dollars that keep parasites like you afloate. You should focus on your blessings and quit expecting a handout from a man who apparently wants nothing to do with you.

Cargon:
P.S. I would have responded sooner, but I was at 1 of my 3 jobs. By the way, there a several people who do not own computers. I don't think the government is handing them out for free yet. Maybe if you elect Obama, he will send you a new one!!! A computer in every house paid compliments of the government, i.e. the taxpayers. Do not confuse government leaches with those who cannot do for themselves. CANNOT and WILL NOT are the distinction. I truly feel sorry for you.
