Sheriff Darrell Doan Had over 400 Felonies indictments and convictions' in the four years he was in office. the money that is being spent by Sheriff Peters was the results of the previous 400 + Drug convictions both on State and Federal Level. You can also confrim this by the United States Attorney's Office in London Ky, So ask your self a few questions?

1. Just because, you hear alot of jaber on the scanner, dose not mean anything is being done!! infact the real Police Work was not even heard about because, you cant catch a Drug Dealer if they can hear you comming.

The fact of the matter is Darrell Doan couldn't have done half of what happened in that office without the man hours of mainly one man. That is the man that works with the Feds in more than just this county. The Sheriff's Dept. could improve, don't get me wrong, but to put Doan on a pedalstal is just wrong! Mike Peters is a fine man. At least he is out working 6 days a week. If you can say that about Doan and some of his former Deputies than you tell one a mile long. As to the money that is being spent....that came from the Federal Govt. That had nothing to do with Doan. Oh, and by the way...the Sheriff's Dept. is OPEN Monday thru Saturday 8:30 am to 4:pm, not 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. It takes time to clean up a mess from the past where no organization was priority The Doan era had their priorities with playing Civil War and with cannon balls. Only a "Few Good Men" carried over with Sheriff Peters. I just he knew what was best.

if it wasnt for sheriff Doan that offficer would not had a job anymore for any police agency in Rockcastle because the officer did not like mayor Kirby also the same for Mike Peters ,Bill Mink, and the one you speeek of Barry Adams would all been job less if it wasnt for Doan then they betrayed Doan in the election that goes for some of the deputies that still work there that dont do a damn thing but waste gas, dont see the arrest like you did when Doan was there!

I see you are ALL. I'd say you worked there for Daon and that's nwhy you have this attitude. I think it's funnier than hell for people to come to the defense of this man. ha ha As for Adams...I've been arrested by him so I am totally impartial to that. I have never been arrested by any other officer even those from the great Doan era. Whom did not give a rats ass to what went on. Do you know where the money comes from that buys all those cars?? From Fed money from dope dealers in this all perfect town and surrounding towns. At least Adams and Peters are still doing there job...What do you do? NOTHING NOW.ha ha and who said adams was going to work in Rockcastle... He had and still has job offers in other Counties and States for that matter. That money was from Doan's era as you say! And if he had job offers why did he not go to them, with i am sure better retirement and or pay than Rockcastle County!

I guess thats all you got to complain about Doan, was his hobbies. Let me see do you work? I would say you dont but most people that work talk about their hobbies at work nothing wrong with that, cause the job was still done look at the stats above that (one that knows) posted and compare to the Sheriff Department now and see what you come up with, you cant judge the job being done by the looks!

Well first of all, I agree, Mike Peters is a good person; but he is not the greatest sheriff. Everyone can sit here and try to decifer which sheriff is better but the fact of the matter is that they all have their positives and negatives. You just have to weigh what means more to people. The truth is the truth, Mike and his current deputies don't do a whole lot. You hear them complain about having to go to court, thats part of the job isn't it. I didn't hear the S.O. complain on the radio when they received a call during the Darrell Doan administration. How many times have you heard complaining when a deputy has to answer a call of service to the community??? 1,2,3,......10000. And to respond to the comment about the seizure money, that entire case stemmed from a traffic stop from a State Trooper in Kansas or Oklahoma. If you or anybody worked for the DEA TASK FORCE and were on call that night, you would have been carrying that case because it was coming to this area on a delivery. It's not like whoever got out and beat the bushes and developed that case, it fell in their lap. And as for all the job offers this officer was supposed to have had before they decided to leave Mt. Vernon PD and go to the S.O. Which agencies were they?? You have to admit when Bill Mink, Barry Adams, and Mike Peters were unhappy at the PD because of the new mayor, Darrell Doan was there to help them out, and then he was stabbed in the back. Darrell did have alot of arrests and some good cases. He participated in DEA task force, UNITE Task force and coalition, DARE, plus had units out that worked. Sometimes politics doesnt play out for some people, in Darrells case it didnt, but you cannot dismiss the fact that he was a great sheriff.

you know its funny you all sit and say how great the deputies was in the doan era they never complained blah blah blah 95% of the deputies with the so called doan era is still there and are still doing a good job

the ones there are the ones that complain and dont do anything!

I have to admit that i, on different occasions of course, have Voted for Shirly Smith, Darrell Doan, and Mike Peters for the office of Sheriff. Most of the county has no idea what goes on at the court house, and when you are talking about voting, any fool can be elected. I have never voted for the same person more than once, and have no way to access the sucess rate of any of the past Sheriffs. So of course, the people above have to had a connection to the Sheriffs Department, at one time or another, and of course would have to be biased.
As long as the Sheriff is an elected position, there are going to be mixed results, regardless of who is in office.
