My family is new to area and is seeking a good solid baptist church to call home, with a loving body of people who care about one another. Can be around Mt vernon, or maybe even Berea. Please tell me some things about the one you suggest. Thanks.

I agree-Northside is an awesome church! Regardless of what some may say it is a Go-seeking church with ever-day common folks-we would love to have you be part of our church family.

3 miles past Exit 59 on South U.S. 25 (South Wilderness Road) there is a sign on U.S. 25 and you can see the white church from the road. Sunday School is at 10:00 a.m. and Worship service at 11:00 a.m. and Sunday evening service at 6:00 p.m. We would love to have you and your family join us. Brodhead Baptist Church is wonderful! I have gone there for 6 years. Ralph Baker is the pastor at this time. Lots of programs for all age groups. Everyone is very loving. It doesn't matter what you wear to church as long as you come..even jeans are fine.

I go to Brodhead Baptist right now and I love it. I felt really welcome the moment I walked in the door. I also went to Conway Missionary Baptist for a long time. When I was there it too was a wonderful church with a large youth group.

KY-ASAP is sponsoring a public meeting in which we can move forward in improving the quality of life in our commuity by learning more about addiction and recovery. People who receive treatment for substance use disorders can lead more productive and fulfilling lives. Studies have consistantly shown that individualized treatment is essential for people to be successful in their path of recovery.
2 Chron 7:14
Christ says " When my people who are called by my name, humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, THEN will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land". We've been praying for a long time for God to touch our community. Now it's time to put feet on these prayers. God has heard our cries. Please dont let pride stand in the way. Our community needs healing. Addicts need help. Most want help but wont ask....but we as families can help them, if we get the information necessary to do so. Hope to see you on 9-11.

the only reason dale renner was put in jail was because he threatened to come to church and kill every one there. dont speak unless you know the facts!!! pine hill is a wonderful cjurch and they have a great pastor.

If you're rich and stuck up, and like trying to act like you live in Birmingham or Atlanta instead of Mt-piddly-ass-Vernon, then go to First Baptist or Bible Baptist. If you're a recovering addict of any kind, proud of that, and as a result you think the world owes you a favor because of it, then go to Northside. If you're backwoods and stuck in the 1950s, then go to any of the ones out in the county.

And before anyone starts praying for me, I'm just poking a little fun here. Sense of humor. Look it up. Most good baptists don't have one.

I want to take your humorous example one step further by posing this question:

Why is there not just ONE baptist church in Rockcastle for everyone to come to?

In replying to this question, you cannot answer by saying that some churches are closer than others (you coming by horse and buggy?), or that you believe differently (you are all using the same Bible, right?), or that your family has always gone there (that sounds retarded). Come up with something original - convince me that this "people of God" that is the "Baptist Church" has legitimate reasons for not having one massive county-wide megachurch. Why?

I have witnessed God blessings in a local church in a powerful way. Central Baptist is a church that is on fire for God. This church isn't out to impress anyone except God. They stand for the Old Time Religion and know how to love people. As for young people, they really care. This is the third year of for their K-12 Christian School.

Old Time Religion? You mean you wear like robes and sandals around?
Weren't you the church who put an ad in the paper saying you had "old" music and bashed other kinds of modern church music?
