How many people did the Madison County Sheriff arrest today in Mt. Sterling? 4 or 5 druggie thugs?

Looked like 4 or 5 people to me. And I totally agree with your statement about the police. If Mount Sterling going to have a police department it needs new leadership, just like the town does.

Hey Joe, don't you find it INTERESTING that Madison County SUDDENLY came in and made something happen in Mount Sterling? Don't you SUPPOSE that they ALREADY work closely with Mount Sterling PD undercover and KNEW this bust was going to happen? You'd be surprised to know (or maybe you wouldn't) HOW MUCH under cover work goes on by Mount Sterling PD amongst themselves and other jurisdictions. Maybe you're corrupt and don't want the police around becuase YOU are up to no good. "THE SHERRIFF" is one man, "THE DEPUTIES" are the men on the street on behalf of the county who work for "THE SHERRIFF" - get your facts straight. And you'll have TWO deputies on shift for the county to cover FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT SQUARE MILES. Good luck with that.

L I S T E N ,

First of all, I dont think I mentioned anything about any "DEPUTIES" I think I was speaking of the "SHERRIFF". But since you used up all your (BIG WORDS) on my personal thoughts. Ill share more.I would be very suprised if you could find 2 Deputies that work for a(Sherriff)( who we now know is just 1 person) whom work in a 468 mile square. That at any time give 2 (two) HOOTS what any Sterling officer thinks about about anything at any time at any where...And in the short time ive been here as a tax payer...and i sure hope you are?????????? I think the local pd spent more time doing under handed then under cover.

OK well being the concerned resident you are, maybe you should look into why the administator makes over $60K a year, and the "clerk" or Fiscal officer (Lana) as they've titled her makes over $40K per year (with no degree by the way), and the Street Supervisor (Joe Johnson) makes about $50K a year, ALL for a village with only 1800 residents. And that fiscal officer was given a $10,000.00 pay raise to START doing the village payroll (OK why wasn't she always, since there aren't that many employees) and payroll CONTINUES to be outsourced to a 3rd party. I pulled up the State of Ohio audits from 2007 & 2008 for the village, with SEVERE and countless financial and bookkeeping errors, problems, and "confusion" - nothing has been done by the Mayor, the Council, or the residents. And the report states they were also "previous ongoing errors". And the State does NOT have Mount Sterling on Fiscal Emergency or Fiscal Watch - and the Village should have requested State help if they knew they could not make all payroll beyond 30 days. They did not. I have a copy of the police budget from the end of June. EVERY category was at OR BELOW 50% of it's annual appropriation for the police spending. RIGHT ON TASK or better for 1/2 way through the year. Maybe the payroll and bookkeeping records from administration should be copied for everyone at the next meeting. I hope one of you see the invoice for CAR WAX that was submitted AND OK'D TO PAY by administration. And maybe ask about the night that one officer from Mt Sterling responded to a business TWICE that was out of jurisdiction that county couldn't "get to" that had an alarm going off. The first time nothing was found, the second time, AGAIN the village officer responded (AGAIN b/c County couldn't get there), and the officer found someone inside with merchandise, electronic equipment, and money boxed up to carry out and steal. He had the man at gunpoint on the ground and the premises secure until the "deputy" who "didn't give two hoots" could arrive. I'd rather see an officer on the street in my town of 1800 who makes $12.50 an hour over 2 administation members who walk out of the village annually with over $100K of your tax money. PLUS their benefits and perks. The books are being cooked in the Administation Soup, Mr. Citizen, and they've gotten away with it too long.

So......... I take that as no, you are not a tax payer. All I care about, is that the drug problems are delt with swiftly and punished severly. I pay to have that done where I live and will accept no less. By a local PD or anyone else. Problems between employees and their employers is not my concern. (at this time)..... I work for my money and have none to give away for anything less then perfection so if any of the people in the positions you mentioned are doing less then 100 percent of what is expected of them they should be an example not an exception. I did not grow up with these people nor did i have them in school so when i hear that a pd was eleminated, I wonder to myself if the city is out of money or could it be something else, But any who ....

The Mayor is just a "puppet on their string" that makes $7K a year, and has let himself be fooled. Trust me he knows what's going on, and he plays their games to keep his public figure role that he loves so dearly. Mayors have little control - they are like a town's "PR figure". The Council and citizens are the voice and who have the power to control what goes on. I think they've been victim to the ongoing administrative scam. Until someone pulls back the rug, you don't know what's been lurking underneath. Just please direct your actions at the real money problems and where they come from. I honestly don't think council has had a clue for the most part that they were being "duped". But it's all about to come out in the wash.

I don't think anyone is referring to the "theft ring" topic - that was a long time ago. I believe there was actually a NEW "drug bust" last week (OK, so the County got a few people from town that were known for selling drugs while making a traffic stop). You can stop a car and find a pipe and some residue and call that a drug bust. So I don't think the county made any earth shattering bust. And just so everyone's clear - there are people on this blog that make up "stories" just so they can paint a different picture or stir the pot. "Drama breeders" I like to call them.

Sure glad the sherriff department stepped up and stepped in to protect the citizens and do what is right! Thank you MCSD!

I already know what some will say, "if we had our police force on, they would have been able to make the arrest"

This didn't "suddenly" appear within the past month or yesterday.

Now that's what I call KARMA! I guess I posted this story 7 days too early. Now I wonder how I knew? No I'm not a profit from God. My eyes are open! Mount sterling police department has turned a blind eye to criminal activity both inside the village and adjacent to the village. MOUNT STERLING OPEN YOUR EYES!! I am on your side!!!

Not too sure if this was earth shattering or not, But it seems like the MCSD wouldnt allow the town to bring back local PD until they get finished doing their job. Other then that I say good job MCSD and FCSD, That is tax money well spent..
Thanks.

Karma,
Mount Sterling PD was part of the operation. This investingation has been part of a 2 year process.
I am surprized that you didn't know this seeing how you are the expert on MSPD.
This is for both KARMAs.
