I have seen first hand how damaging this ideology can be on people especially children.

If you are struggling with the exit please see this resource:

http://ex-pentecostals.org/

There is no religious or spiritual agenda.

Once you comfortably exit this abusive cult keep researching free thinking and humanism to pull yourself completely free from spiritual dogma.

The above resource is only recommended for ex or current Pentecostals/Charismatics.

There is a similar group for people who have left the Church of Christ - http://ex-churchofchrist.com/
There are different variants of this specific denomination, which they claim not to be although they clearly are, but this support group is for people mainly leaving the hardline churches who tell people who leave they are going to hell. Those who have no experience in these types of legalistic churches have no idea how damaging some of the ideology can be.

And the local radio station has a local CofC minister presenting his message on a daily basis. I don't listen but he probably doesn't talk about their kooky, cultlike beliefs on air. People that go to that church are certainly free to, but they tend to be very judgmental towards those who don't worship like they do and generally believe everyone else is on the road to hell. I, like the OP, worry about the children, especially the little girls who aren't allowed to speak even in Sunday School and grow up to think they are second class citizens. Plus the church fails to teach grace, instead presenting a salvation dependent on one's own efforts, although they deny this on the surface.

I agree!
They like to use Paul's teachings of Christ to support what they do, but they like to leave out Paul's most important teaching about Grace not Works. People have a hard time understanding anytime you hear a preacher say you need to do this, or need to do it this way, or you need to be able to do this before you go to heaven, that all falls under WORKS. Paul is telling them that's wrong, it's not your works, it's God's GRACE through Christ.
Christ saves you, your preacher or your church building does not save you, only Christ!!
What's so hard to understand about that, quit falling in the traps of man's false doctrine!
