Question wrote:
It is my understanding that there was an email from the Kentucky Dept of Education being circulated at the last board meeting. Apparently that email stated that any claims that the test scores in Montgomery County had improved could not be correct. That is because the test last year was a completely new test and format so there would be absolutely nothing to compare it to. Is this true, and if so why did the Advocate fail to even mention the document?
Yes, your understanding of this is indeed correct. The last question would be a fine one to ask of the Advocate.

<quoted text>I do not know why you keep posting these long drawn out post, asking the same questions over and over again that I have already answered? Not just me, but nobody on here liked reading through these, they are like a broken record.
You asked why did Walters get fired for asking about money? He didn't, it's that simple. And all of your other questions have also been answered. When you do not like the answer you just ask the question again.
That is another dodge. Show yours answers, they aren't posted. Do explain the Board shenanigan. And did you find the problem with Mrs. Powell's statement yet? Very obvious.

Try again.

We have established NONE of the above.
One thing we HAVE established is that you cannot seem to find a problem regarding the board meeting that occurred, and how a supposedly CLOSED meeting was handled outside of Parliamentary Procedure. A child can read the way that only one side was permitted to speak and know something is wrong.
So, for the eighth time, please review the story in last week's Advocate, paying attention to how the Board violated it's own rules, and see if you can find the problem with the CLOSED meeting, where everyone was told that NOBODY would be permitted to speak, and yet one side WAS permitted to speak as long as it was supportive of Josh Powell. Then the meeting was rapidly adjourned and they left.
The board members who agreed with that call have no interest in getting to the bottom of this. And it shows.
And that is directly connected to what you can't seem to find wrong with Mrs. Powell's statement.
At a time when it was critical to be THOROUGHLY honest, because she was explaining a lie, WAS Mrs. Powell THOROUGHLY honest?
If she wasn't THOROUGHLY honest, something is trying to be covered up.
Mary Lou, was Mrs. Powell being THOROUGHLY honest in her prepared, read statement to the board and public?
This question has a provable answer.........
I can tell you. He has all good points.

When people start using your name and making comments on here. Sure sign you are winning the argument.
Though I am not on here for self gratification of winning an argument, like most everyone else. It still shows who is right and who is wrong. So feel free to keep submitting.

The whole system is a mess. We have gone from surplus to running on fumes. We have had a Jerry Springer episode. What else do we need?

Heard a few local large supporters are finished with donations here , they seem to think if there's money to pay employees with out degrees , they must not need any support .

People that make large donations thinking that their children would have an advantage on other children have learned it's not that way anymore. It's not just students first, it's also they are all equal, no matter how much their parents or grandparents donate. So good riddance to those donations.
The things some of you say on here, just shows you do not really put the students first. No wonder you do not like the new system, you want it to go back to the good ole boy system when you still had your job, and contracts at the school, and making donations so your child's grades would be sufficient, and they would get plenty of playing time in their favorite sport.

You mean like the two post about Bruce Walters? When it came out about Bruce Walters handed out copies of a false EPO to several people outside the board members, after his contract didn't get renewed, two post about him got deleted.
So are you saying someone is trying to hide something about that inncident?

It is refreshing to see some people are actually interested in what goes on in local politics. For those of you who say it is none of our business I would like to remind you the superintendent is payed with tax money. Who pays the taxes? You and I.
Unless the public keeps the pressure on the Board of Education this whole thing will be glossed over and forgotten about. Keep asking questions and demand answers. Mr. Powell holds a very high opinion of himself and would like to believe he has to answer to no one. Please remind him otherwise. All of our public servants are suppose to answer to us, unfortunately we don't hold them accountable. Lack of accountability results in a power shift, from those who hold to those who want it. We need to be reminded that we have the power, and that we are not going to give it up!
