And believe what you want to believe, but I believe he would have built something special here. This was his best year yet at Montgomery. And by the way, letcher central is 6A and is a region contender year in and out, Bryan station is far from weak, the mr. Baseball this year played there, and Mac Whitaker won't come here, so Combs won't go there. Regardless, I hope MoCo hires a good coach and "turns" things around, but they will no longer have my support... Things don't look so good anytime in the future... They are in a tough district with a low talent pool... Next year will be there best shot to succeed for a while, and that's if they don't lose first baseman Tanner Combs( who tied for the lead in HRs and had a high average) or Blake Thomas, who had the highest average on the team... Who knows, maybe they'll hire Brad Shelton and he'll let u be pitching coach

I may have been a bit off on the wins loss, I was going off the khsaa website. I will agree that next year is a pretty good shot to do something...I hope the best for them and the combs family. I'm not sure who brad shelton is, and why would I want to be a pitching coach. I'm just a guy with an opinion...also there's no way I'm moving back to Montgomery with a 2nd kid on the way...no way mine are going to that school system.

Why run coach down and school system If you do not even have a knowledge of what is really going on in Montgomery Co. Sounds like to me you need to keep your "opinion" to yourself.

I was being sarcastic... Brad Shelton coaches at the Cumberlands and would be a so called "big hire" and I was implying maybe you should coach the team yourself... But anyway, it was sarcasm... Everybody has their own opinion, it's their American right, and while I disagree with yours, I respect it...

Does anyone know if Tanner is going to play this coming season? Did Blake Thomas transfer to another school? Is Sam Lee back for his SR year? I think this team can be a special team if the fighting outside the doing out stops and the parents shut up. No matter how the season goes these players are Coach Combs players and he built this team. Say what you want but Wolfe County got a very good coach. If one of the three players don't come back then I don't see MC going very far. I wish those boys nothing but the best. They are good boys. I hope Tanner and Blake playes basketball as well so the can play at Rupp Arena.

So happy for Combs. I hope Wolfe County can find him a teaching job as well, this year yet even. I also hope he moves and takes his boys out of this county. They don't deserve to reap the talents of the family they've screwed.

Read my stuff I am Kentucky Baseball Source I am transferring my kid Blake to GRC. He is going Pro someday . He is 5'6 and a stud check him out
Guessing Blake has gone to GRC. Everything is better in Clark Co so I'm sure he won't torture his children with inferior educations, poor baseball coaches, poor cheerleading coaches in the sticks.

Sam Lee is back, Blake Thomas is still there, and the future looks promising for the Indians this season. They just got a Sr catcher from Morehead who is pretty solid who will help. This team can do big things this year.

Ill bet Comb has a job at Wolfe County before the year is out and his younger boy will be there next year (at least if the Wolfe County Board is smart they will hire him)

The word is that Wolfe County found a job for him but Joshua Powell won't let Combs out of his teaching contract out of spite and as a show of authority.

i have played for coach combs for 4 years...he has a temper but no more then any other coach. its a competitive sport that some kids aint cut out for and then they run and cry to there over protective parents..who cares if he yells and screams and cusses every now and then..better then feltner being drunk all the time...combs knows his baseball and cares for all his players that puts forth the effort that is expected before you join the team...its high school not elementary...this was a big loss for the montgomery county program

Tell me, how can you analize each individual teacher/coach in such a short period of time? I was taught a new leader will mentor/coach the team they inherit. If this fails then changes may need to be made. Firing and rehiring only buys the new leader extra time to make something happen. You can not lead by fear!!!!!!
Hopefully all the troublemakers working for Powell will be pink slipped.
Current, former employees and Parents an audit has begun the Wednesday of spring break... According to the thread Josh Powell audit. We are asking any complaints or tips you have please report to the links provided. Anything your child has told you or any papers sent home which you are incomfortable with please tell the state auditor, OEA, use all the links if necessary. Thank you

Powell's annual job fair to hire before employees get their pink slips was April 20. Are you one to be pink slipped this year? Powell needs his annual raise, to do this he can pink slip employees who are making more & hire new at less pay.
