You people are sick! I go to church at FCOG, and I know the truth. Jeff did NOT have an affair. He is not perfect, I'm sure, as none of us are. However, those who truly know him understand the truth behind him needing to leave. He was tired. He never took a break. He was on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. His one fault was not knowing how to say no to anyone in need. You should be embarrassed and ashamed for getting on here and spreading untruths. I love my church. I loved Pastor Jeff and his whole family. They are Godly people. When you post these lies, you don't just hurt Jeff, but you hurt his whole family. They don't deserve this kind of pain. My prayer is that God will burden your heart for posting these lies.

I go there to. Neither of us know the whole truth. However the part I do know is he did have a affair and that is why he left. He was never tired and he had many free hours in the day. Many of us saw him in town walking around or driving it was easy to see his life style he made it public. He never visited the sick or nursing home visits. In his defense when he was interviewed he said he would not do that and we hired him any way. He would say no when it unconvinced him. The problem with your thinking is Jeff is not god. He is a human being with faults, weakness and like most humans we fall short when there are temptations. He fell short. We should not beat him up I agree at the same time you should not cover it up. He need a chance to be forgiven to. He is a good man with a good family. This sight did not hurt his family he did. This sight is no good but when you put yourself out there a high position in the biggest church in the county you can mess up. When you do this happens. It's not the first time a Paster of our church committed adultery in the end god will forgive him if he ask him to. I forgive him and he did not ask me to but god wants me to. He will be forgiven. But the facts are he sinned and hurt someone else's family in the process why not pray for the family he hurt and ask him to be accountable.
When he accepts accountability he will be forgiven. I love my church and I also love Jeff.

You idiot, you just had to get on here denying the obvious, until someone brought the other family's name into it. Real smart idiot!

I am sorry. I do feel like an idiot. Took a little longer to get the names than I thought it would. Everyone you ask within the church would claim they didnt know why he left. If this is true I do feel for the families and not the church.

You are a cult member sinner. You follow the man. Perkins is your idol.
When he ask you to drink the poison I believe you will drink. If he is guilty. Listen to me he did it. You could see him in the act and cover it up. By the way sinner I know who you are.

By the way Perkins never was the church. The church is not guilty. Only men sin against the church. I will pray for you and him. Good night

I was a member of VP's previous church.. I have gone to that church my entire life and once I figured out what VP was doing, I left. If its not his way, it's the highway.. I didn't want to believe it at first, he seems like a very nice man but after a while it was quite evident. He sent out letters to the elders in our congregation telling them that they were not allowed back. How can you kick someone out of church? Needless to say, he drove the church into serious debt, and took what money they had. All I can do is pray for the man. It's not about the clothes he wears or the music he prefers but the evil thats in his heart is what disappointed me. he put plasma tvs in the youth room and built onto the church in such unnecessary ways. To me, a church should put missionary work before itself and all the money he spent on the building to "attract" people, was obserd. There was a woman that made easter baskets every year for childrens shelters and all of the sudden the church did not support that any longer. He also put an end to all of our small groups which is what gave the church a family feeling. He had the nerve to tell a few people that they didn't make enough money to attend the church. There is something peculiar about this man and I pray that he does not continue ruining churches and people the way he has in the past.

This church is in a sad state of affairs. It is so sad as it has been such a leader in this community. We have a man that needs to be humbled and fall prostrate before the Lord in confession of such a harsh personality. The church then needs to follow up and all ask for personal cleansing.
Sounds to me like you have belonged to a "dead" church for a long time. VP is a real person and is following The Spirit! I attended the church he left to go to Mt Sterling and I am sad to see him go. He is confident in his mission and if that seems unhumble to you then maybe it's because you walk in doubt and insecurity about YOUR mission. There are plenty of churches out there with congregations so set in their ways that they reject change. Yes VP dresses a little different then your typical pastor and he plays modern Christian music. If that makes the people of ANY church uncomfortable then maybe they should ask themselves why they are there in the first place....
Stop beating down a man of God because he doesn't fit the mold YOU have created for a pastor and realize that God makes the mold. Praying for you VP! If they don't want to hear your word then dust off your shoes and keep moving! God Bless you and your family sir!

I'm solid in my belief that VP was sent to FCOG to lead our congregation back to God. My prayer is that God will burden your heart for being so judgmental. Let you who are among us without sin cast the first stone.
