I will say this, there are some saints that are rolling over in their graves not only because of what is happening in the church that they built, but the fact that their children/grandchildren are allowing it to happen.

Mt.Sterling First Church of God...Thats the name or was the name the church has held for as long as I can remember. But now they decide to call it MS1 Church. OK lets break it down. If you want to take the name Mt. Sterling off and call it something else just First Church of God, well fine. If you want to take the name First Church off and just call it Mt. Sterling Church of God well that might be ok too. But you take the two most important words in the entire church name, OF GOD out of the title. A church that has been an important part of this town for decades. Not sure if this was VP's idea. Maybe it wasn't, but to take God's name out of your church title just to sound cool, well it really rubs me the wrong way and may explain why some of the things are happening.
The main reason the church name was changed was that if, in the event, disunity within the congregation reaches a point where the state Church of God organization learns of it and wants to investigate charges against the pastor and intervene VP can just say, "We're not part of the Church of God movement anymore. This is MS1Church. Stay out of my business."
He has tried to cut us completely off from activities within the Church of God such as scheduling a mid-week service during the week of Camargo Campmeeting. The mid-week service was always cancelled during both Camargo and Winchester campmeetings.

This will be my final post. I am asking everyone to pray and open your eyes and hearts to what is happening.
1. A man was called to preach that cannot get his credentials released so that he can get KY credentials.
2. A man has been called to preach that believes he does not need to be held accountable. He refuses to answer any questions concerning the business of the church.
3. A man has been called to preach that does not believe it is his duty to "leave the 99 sheep to pursue the 1 that is lost". His answer is the same, "good riddance".
4. A man has been called to preach that he himself is the leader of division.
5. And finally, a man has been called to preach! He is only a man. He is not God! You are following a man. Please turn and realize what is happening before it is too late.

How sad that so many people who have grown up and attended the MT. STERLING FIRST CHURCH OF GOD (what is that MS1Church crap anyway?) are sitting idly by and watching this man destroy everything this church is and has been for so many years! Many say if you don't like the way VP is running the church (and let's be clear on this, he IS running -- and ruining -- the church), then you're free to leave and go elsewhere. Why would you want to stay at a church with a pastor as destructive as he? Because this is YOUR church! You were there long before VP and his cronies came around, and you need to be there long after he's gone! You remember the portraits of those saints that have been removed from the Heritage Room and you vow not to let their work and sacrifice die in vain. People of the church, you are being tested! This is your fight! You have to take back your church from the evil that has infiltrated it! How can you sit back when a 30 something man (TK) walks into a room full of the saints and elderly of the church, people who were there when the church began, and allow that man to scream and yell insults and call names to these people -- our parents, grandparents, beloved role models? This is a man of God?? And how convenient -- his wife is on the payroll. This is just one couple that VP has masterminded. Many of you in support of VP say this doesn't need to be aired on the internet, that these issues should be dealt with privately with VP. Well good luck getting him to talk to you. He's got the podium every weekend to spout off his evil and call out people in public, yet when someone tries to express their frustration or call him out, suddenly he can't hear you or is too busy to be bothered. People, wake up! Your church is being destroyed and it has already been altered in a way that you will never regain the trust and community you had at one time. You can rebuild from this, though. But you have to be willing to band together and cast Satan from your midst. He is there and will stay as long as you sit back and allow him.
.

Well said!

Actually you are right I don't have a clue because I choose not to attend there, and I didn't claim to in my post. If you will read again, you will see where I basically said that going to a topix blog and downing a church and its leaders is pathetic. Last time I checked my BIBLE said love thy neighbor. The way people talk on here is not very christianlike, then again you could say I'm passing judgement as well.

Maybe the most popular statement could be of good practice for you all:
WHAT WOULD JESUS DO

Best of luck, and I will be praying for that church, that they find some kind of peace.

What would Jesus do. Lets look at what Jesus did to those who we're obsessed with money and power in the temple (Church). He took a whip and ran them off.

I am sorry, but I said nothing of the sort. You brought up the passage, but misused it. I simply clarified a point and said nothing more. You are inferring things I did not say. I clarified what the scripture means. I can't make it up its meaning. It is scripture. And yes, I have prayed for VP and the church. My heart on the matter is between myself and God. Perhaps if you are so concerned, you could show love and understand to people that are obviously hurting, instead of chastising them for posting their feelings on the site. That is what Jesus would want from us.
Just Think About This

I'm asking everyone involved to stop, take a deep breath, and truly think about this:

We know for a fact that VP and his supporters have told many church members to go somewhere else if they don't like the way he runs the church. They've been told openly in church, in a Sunday School class, and in private meetings with the pastor. That's not disputed.

So, let's think about this. If VP stays as pastor, on top of all those who've already left, how many more people will be told to leave the church? My guess is there will be many more. But, if VP leaves, how many of his supporters will be asked to leave our church by those in opposition to VP? None. Absolutely none. Everyone will be welcome to stay.

It's really easy to see who is causing the division. Think for yourselves. Follow God and not a charismatic man.

This would defeat our purpose and disappoint our parents/grandparents that helped build this church. We all need to stand up for what we believe in and get rid of VP. He is a bad influence on not only us but our community.

Please stand together as a church and continue helping us in getting rid of what never needed to be here.

VP is not the head of the Church, Christ is.
He may be the head of a church building, but not the Church. Christ is the head, we are the body. The people of that church building have a carnal problem, and it should be treated as such. Judgement starts at the pulpit!
If these church buildings are not preaching word for word out of the Bible, it's time to find another church building to attend, and get yourself in the Body of Christ. Only 2 church buildings out of 7 in the Bible were preaching the right message, and the odds are more than likely not that good today. Quit worrying about being hip and how much money you are bring in, and get in the Word. People are starving for the true Word of God, that's how you draw them in, not by being hip and in style. I think everyone will agree times are drawing to a close, and if your pastor is more worried about where someone is sitting, than their salvation, it's time to get with a pastor who will feed you the Word of God!

So feelings are now facts?? Why do you feel the need to post your feelings anyway? I got on here to see how nasty my fellow/former church members were being. I go to that church and I am ashamed of all of you who have posted your "feelings" then.

You are on here posting your concerns and opinions also. Quit downing us for the same thing you are doing. Looks like you are not only blind to what's going on in the church but with yourself also!!! Get off here if you don't wanna see all our concerns about a church that we all love and hate to see drug down and destroyed. God will prevail! We will not sit by and watch what God has brought together be destroyed!!

The "feelings" are a reaction to the facts. All I have to say to you is that I hope you have found what you are looking for. My choice is to love and support those that have been wronged and hurt. Sorry you "feel" differently. Peace to you and God Bless.
