I am searching for a new family doctor in Mt.Sterling. Some Ive thought of are Thomas Thornsbury,Paul McLaughlin, and Richard Hall. Can anyone tell me if they use one of these guys, and if so,how he is as a doctor;do they listen, are you treated decent? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I just moved and have had a transplant, hip replacement, and a blood disorder. Dr. doyle is the most thorough Dr I have ever been to.Believe me I would highly reccomend him. He is in Dr.Womerick's office but they are at Sharpsburg. You might check but I think walkins are welcome and there is never a long wait. I called and had an eye infection told him what I needed he called it in and I did not have to go see him.To me that is worth alot. Good Luck

You called him and told him what you needed, are you a nurse? That sounds like old Doc Cammeran that used to be down at Owingsville, you could walk in and tell him what you wanted an he would write you a prescription. Old Doc Cammeran, I wounder if he is still alive?

Dr Hall no longer practices in Mt. Sterling. Some of the doctors at the Mt Sterling Clinic may be taking patients at this time. There is also a new doctors office in town, it is Mt Sterling Family Care clinic, the doctors name is Dr Yamraj, but there is a nurse practioner there named Denise Gilbert.

Family care is all right, but they will trade you around allot by my experience. I started with one and ended up seeing just about everybody over there. I don't know if they are juggling the work load or what, but one year I seen 5 of those nurse practitioners.

I have a special muscle condition, and I dont want to see a different doctor every other week. I want one who will be there everytime,a REAL doctor not an ARNP,who can get to know me and has experience with my condition. ARNP cant write the prescriptions I need(They can write some prescriptions, but not if they are a certain kind of meds.)-they have to run to another doctor who dont know my condition and they dont want to write them out since they dont know anything about me. Screw that. Thats why Im looking for a doctor. One who will be there everytime.
I have googled the doctors in Mt.Sterling, hence, where I got the list of names I posted. What I wanted to know is if anyone has experience with any of these doctors and if so were the doctors decent?
I appreciate the help youre trying to give deray.

Thank you, I know it is hard to find what you need or a Doctor that will spend the time with you to really find out what your problems are. Good Luck.

Each week the Advocate has an ad from the hospital here giving an 800 number you can call for info and they will set you up with a doctor that fits your needs. They will also set you up with specialists. The new hospital is bringing in new doctors to town who will have offices by the new hospital. Also each week there are ads from several doctors such as Dr. Kassis, Dr. Bill Roberts etc. saying they are taking new patients. Shouldn't be too hard to find one. Anyway, it sounds as if you are probably wanting pain medicines which PA's can't prescribe because they are narcotics. There are some doctors that will not prescribe narcotics anymore. Instead of getting on topix, I would either call the hospital for advice or get the phone book and start calling doctor offices and asking questions. That can't be too hard to do, can it??

Look,I go to the Ballard Wright Pain Clinic already, and I take Tramadol and Savella (NOT narcotics!)for my muscle condition,so no,Im not looking for any other pain meds. Like I stated above,MR./Ms. Judge and Jury, what Im looking for in a FAMILY DOCTOR is someone who will be there everytime I go to the office instead of a different ARNP.One who will understand my condition and can be in touch WITH my doctor at the pain clinic. You really shouldnt comment when you have no clue what youre talking about. I actually went to Dr. Roberts and particularly dont like him,so I asked people who MIGHT have a clue-in other words-been to a doctor and had experience with one they would recommend. Do you understand? I have seen the ones in the paper and I HAVE googled, again, stated above. I might be mistaking, but I was thinking this (topix) might be a way to get opinions that count(not yours, btw).:)

Just so you know a ARNP can write for tramadol and savella.. so therefore you shouldn't have a problem seeing a ARNP.

take my advice&stay the hell away from the clinic next to ross drugs,dr.kassis&his practioners-they will make you worse off then you were to begin with.he wants to say their is nothing wrong with his patients but depression-when they have crippling arthiritis and other major health problems.

Do go to Dr. John Doyle at Buffalo trace main office is in flemisburg but has sharpsburg office as well... he is a caring person and a very good dr. my son spent yr with UK dr and little hope,( with the problem) few months with doyle and he is doing nicely. daughter was seen at family care clinic, first visit to doyle said she had the symptoms but was young for it, and after testing he was correct.. i choose not to get into detail on their medical.. but i would drive just about anywhere to have him continue their care
