The old Windsor nursing home is the old nursing home that is abandoned now. The story is that if you go up there late at night, you can peek in the windows and see the old wheelchairs rolling around. You can here moaning and screaming. This nursing home was shut down in the 80's because they had a large amount of patients dying and found out it was abuse. So their lost souls roam the halls.

Spencer road has a headless man, an underground tunnel that leads to an old cellar that has the ghost of an indian maiden.
On a hill across from the rankin store fire balls have been seen, bushes burn, foxes give off eerie growls.
most houses have screct hallways and staircases.
You can hear scream at the old wooden bridge at Antoich. When we were out gigging we could hear a train but the tracks were long gone.
carry a wooden cross to ward off the evil spirits on Halloween.

I lived in the house by the rankin store for ten years, and I never ever seen anything on the hill or in the ole store cause we also used it.

No, there is not. Trust me. Check for yourself if you would like. The only nursing homes that have been in Mt. Sterling are Annie Walker which closed in the late 90's, and the Windsor Care Center that is still open today. There was no other nursing home.

Do you still go ice skating in the bottom across from the Rankin store.
the boy that lived on the hill told me the story about the fire balls.in front of the store.
in the back we played cowboy and indians .
the flash flood roar you could hear before you could see and you had better run to higher ground if you do hear it.
animals can always see the ghost before we do if they are spooked , best to pay attention.

my great grandmother worked in annie walker. i remember going there when i was little. mrs walker was the nicest lady ever. but some of her employees were neglectful. my grandmother just cleaned and made beds. i heard some wild stories tho, and have been up there late at night. its a church now. as for the guy on the bike on the levee... thats actually me. i disappear because i wanna keep from getting hit. lol. no kiddin. i lost my licens and ride my bike through there late at night. sorry guys. there is a story of the glowing man in an old cemetary on levee. theres a road straight across from it, not sure what road. but ive heard that you can see a glowing statue on the hill late at night. the old stepstone church, the first hospital which is now a house. the old tracks between mccormic lumber, and queen street, especially the train depot. entering the building is a federal offence. be careful. the bell house which is now a law office, the old miller school building on maysville street, quizzenberry tunnel. i call BS on that one, but story tells that if you sit in the tunnel facing stepstone on a tuesday night with your lights and car off at midnight you will hear a nearing old style police siren, and see headlights of an older style camaro coming around the curve. just as they approach the tunnel the car flips, and goes into the field on the left. kind of far fetched, but not impossible. i just havent been fortunate enough to see it for myself. there are other places outside of mt sterling that are easy to get to. the ghost bridge on van meter road in winchester. if you stand by the tracks directly under the bridge as the 3am freighter passess, look directly at the track, and you will see a girl in a white dress fall from the bridge, followed by a loud scream. then the train horn blows and the engineer applys the brakes. i have seen this for myself. there is also a few freaky abandoned ranch houses just down from the bridge. also in winchester is johnson cemetery road. about 5 miles down the road there is a group of greenhouses. if you sit in the driveway you will hear the voice of a man saying go away. also your car starts to trip out as you leave. lockeegee rock in rowan county. ive seen some freaky stuff up there, i wont say its haunted. amburgey rock just behing lockeegee is supposedly haunted. springfield church in bath county. also there is an old house on springfield road that has been empty for years. if you watch it late at night you can see light coming from upstairs as if it were on fire. as you get closer the light fades, and there is no source of light to be found at all. but as you leave the light reappears and grows brighter. the paris TB sanitorium. you will most likely be arrested if you go in this place. not recommended. you can drive up to it during the day, but stay in your car. it is government property and the paris police are dicks. i went in one night and actually found paperwork where my great great grandmother was a patient. i kept that for our family, and left the remaning information in the building. i am not a thief. there is alot of neat stuff in there. you can hear footsteps, moans and coughing. two people can go up each staircase together, and search each room, and never find anyone. when you get to the top and start back down you will hear someone in the floor above you scream cops. hint. run to your vehicle and leave. as we pulled out 12 cops rushed in. the story there goes that a group of teens was inside, and they had two friends on the third floor watching for police. they saw cops coming, yelled for their buddies, and one jumped out the window for a quick getaway. he fell onto a pile of cement blocks and died. i have witnessed this for myself. as we were leaving we could see a sillouhette with a glowing essence drifting from room to room.

the old sherburne covered bridge on the licking river at the fleming county line. this was once the longest and oldest covered bridge in kentucky. it was burned in 1988 by some Treadway guy. he remains in prison on unrelated charges. either way. on hwy 11 from mt sterling to flemingsburg you will cross a concrete bridge at the fleming county line. make a right going into sherburne, and another right about 200 feet down the road from there. you will see an old country store at a 3-way intersection. make another right. you then come to a guardrail that blocks the road. shut off your car and step out. good to bring a friend for this one. you will sit for about 15 or 20 min, and you will hear an approaching truck. like a semi, or dump truck. and a chatter like wood planks slapping together. as well as the sound of an old v8. as the sound of a car fades away you hear the brakes of the truck lock up. as if they met at the end of the bridge. then headlights will dive into the river. about 2 seconds later there is a loud splash. use caution. near the edge. the pillars of the bridge are stone, and hundreds of years old and weaken every year. there is currently an active petition distributed by the historic society and the town of sherburne to rebuild the bridge to its old specifications, and preserve its history. keep in mind that it is still government property, but not secured. it is legal to venture to where the road ends. 10 feet on either side of the road is private property. if you stand on the new service road and look over the bridge you will see the old supports, and cables of the wooden bridge where old KY 11 ran through. it is a very interesting piece of history. mount pleasant road in bethel, on the fleming county side of sharpsburg is alittle wierd too. late at night you will see a woman walking along the opposite side of the road wearing bloody clothes. and she appears to have been beaten. when you slow down to see if she needs help naturally you will glance at your gauges to see how fast you are going. when you look up you see her transparent figure directly infront of your car about 10 feet away. she is gone just as you pass the spot where she stands. i dont know a story behind that one. a very good friend called me one night crying because it scared him so bad i belive it to be very real.

highway 36 just past morefield going towards carlisle there is a sharp curve. a barn sits very close to the road, and there is a deep culvert. my friend derrick, was a passenger in a car that wrecked there. they were headed for the next driveway when a driver cut them off. they took the ditch. everyone in the car was killed. the people that live in the house say they can sometimes hear tires squeal late at night, and a loud crash. around the same time they wrecked. the dixie highway dead end. turns off of highway 36 about a mile befor the scene of the car crash. go to the end. there is a turnaround. back your car in and sit there. soon you will hear leaves rustling and limbs breaking. a black van backs up to the forest and the doors open. someone begins to load the van and it vanishes. billy cline a very strange and scary man i know personally and no longer have any affilliation with owns a funeral home down the road from there. myth says he wasnt doing much business because of his ways, and unorthidox habits in handling a dead body. with the falling business his love for his job drove him to kill people at random and embalm them. hosting a fake funeral with a real dead body. the funeral home and billy cline are still operational. some of these events i have witnessed first hand. some ive only heard of. i have tried each location and process. i will say it is a very eventful occasion whether you see a ghost or not. i dont partake in criminal acts other than one criminal trespassing with no criminal intent when i entered the TB hospital. i preserve the history and beauty of these places trying my best to leave them as i found them. respect for the dead and the living is very important. make sure you have permission before entering an abandoned building, or someones land, and make sure you bring a friend. anything can happen. and if you see something people will probably think youre crazy. play it safe, and keep it legal. please dont vandalize these places. one can of spray paint could ruin hundreds of years of history in five minutes. thanks for reading.

I love this stuff. You should write a book. Do you see all this stuff when you are sober? No offense, just asking how much of it is true, and how much is substance induced!
