Now, you have my permission, so go ahead and put my name on here. You are making a complete fool of yourself. Not so funny wants to know what happened to school surplus money. According to LOL February 2012 post #24 Dr.Freeman stole millions from the school, I feel this must be the answer to where the missing money went to.The money was gone before Powell took over. How do I know because LOL said so and he gave the answer long before Walters ask.Can Dr.Freeman sue for.malicious slander, he is a public figure or is he not as an important public figure as Powell? Just wondering
The previous Board gave Powell permission to move $5,000,000 of the $7,000,000 from the surplus that took 13 years or so to save. So your attempt to slime Dr. Freeman, as you have attempted to slime others, is busted.

Powell has repeatedly dodged answering questions about the money. You have made several posts about "vindictive former employees of the school
system"? I asked you before about Powell's dodging the questions about the money on the Tom and Judy show.

Are Tom and Judy "vindictive former employees of the school system"?

Why does Josh continuously dodge questions about the missing money?

For the record, that money can only be used for SPECIFIC purposes. Anything outside of those purposes is a violation of law.

He has dodged the questions too long.

Let's get the answers, and the truth. That way this issue can go away.

If there is nothing to hide, then there is nothing to hide. If there is something hidden, then it should be brought out BY THE STATE. It should be a definitive investigation to get rid of these questions, which have been asked by a lot of people, once and for all.

Tactics such as sliming Dr. Freeman, when the previous Board authorized POWELL to spend the money, reveal DEEP DESPERATION TO MAKE IT GO AWAY.

The only way to make it go away is to definitively bring everything into the light. Let's get to the bottom of this and be finished with it.

It is time for a STATE LEVEL FORENSIC AUDIT. That is a specific term, and should be used until we get it.

We want a STATE LEVEL FORENSIC AUDIT OF EVERYTHING, SINCE JOSH POWELL ARRIVED.

You sound like a person that is scared.. You need help. Mr. Powell is doing what is right for the kids, not adults.... Its all about the kids. MR. POWELL KEEP UP THE GOOD JOB. WAY TO GO AFTER THE GOOD OLE BOY SYSTEM. MONTGOMERY COUNTY WILL BE BETTER OFF WITH OUT THEM AND A CRAZY PERSON "SHORT TENURE." LOL
This is post 24 from February, 2012 accusing Dr. Freeman of stealing millions from the school. It appears this person was laying the ground work to accuse Dr. Freeman of being a thief. Thanks Not So Funny for answering my previous question.
Mary Lou never answered my questions about this comment, but instead chose to talk around it.
I also know Mary Lou keeps stating Powell as being a highly recognizable public figure can sue for malicious slander. Can Dr. Freeman sue for malicious slander? Can Sharon Smith sue for malicious slander after all she was distinguished principle of the year and now a school board member voted in by the popular vote of the people.
Is Josh Powell a more distinguished popular figure, therefore has greater significance, than Dr. Freeman or Sharon Smith?

Excellent questions. Mary Lou has proven, repeatedly that she won't answer questions that disprove her. And apparently, can get things deleted in short order when they really hit home.

Not to mention that there are several flat out lies that I, and others have busted her/him on.

She/he has destroyed her/his credibility.

Don't tell me, you have turned into a liar also. I did answer this questions, and I never once said anything about Powell being a distinguished popular figure.
See, that's what happens when you lie, you forget that people can go back and read what has been written!
I can not believe you would come on a public forum to try and win an argument, and then lie about what someone you were arguing with had said. That is a sure sign of being a loser!

Mary Lou please accept my humble apologies, I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. I didn't word my post correctly nor do I have any intention on being a liar. I do agree there is plenty of info not only on topix but elsewhere, we have the internet to search, read & form our own opinions. I wasn't trying to win any arguments, I don't see this as a contest of winner/loser, I am sorry but I have never been the competitive type. I feel by this petty nit picking, the main subject is being overlooked. I have assumed you were in Powell's inner circle, some of the answers you have gave leads one to think this. But I do fully understand now thanks to you & communicator, you are either making educated guesses placing yourself in Powell's position & answering how you think he would answer or as communicator claims you are jumping around answering anything to keep things stirred. We can really never know for certain. I don't recall you answering my question, will ask again. All I have is conjecture, no facts.

My question to you is Powell any less of a public figure than his predecessor Dr. Freeman, or Sharon Smith who was distinguished principle of the year & school board member elected by the popular vote of the people? Thanks for your immediate thoughts to my question.

Thank you for the kind compliment. Please bear in mind, Mary Lou may not be able to answer about the Tom & Judy show, she may not know what this show is or heard it, especially if she isnt from MOCO as communicator claims. Could you be so kind to explain to Mary Lou the question ask on Tom & Judy & Powell's response to the question. This way Mary Lou can give her opinion. I am confused as to Mary Lou's true motive, I have assumed she was in Powell's close inner circle as apparently you thought also. But a new poster by the name of communicator claims Mary Lou has been on Frenchburg & other topix reading posts & answering to stir the pot so to speak. Since we will never know, perhaps you need to keep this in mind when asking Mary Lou questions. I might also add Mary Lou is welcome to give her insight & opinions no matter what communicator claims. Thanks again & perhaps when you have time you could post the q&a from Tom & Judy show for Mary Lou.

Dr. Freeman and Powell hold, and held the same position. So how can one be anymore distinguished than the other? I thought Dr Freeman did a fine job, his only fault was trusting in the wrong people.
They were handing out "good old boy" contracts right under his nose, and a few of the former teachers had the wool pulled over his eyes also. They would act like they could do no wrong in front of him, and then put themselves first instead of the students when they were not around him, not to mention the other things they were doing behind his, and their spouses backs.
So really the big difference in Freeman and Powell, is Powell is much to smart for the "good ole boy" politics that goes on in Montgomery County. That is what's wrong with the complainers on here, they know he is way to smart for them to pull their "good ole boy" shenanigans without him finding out!

Not the good old buddy system with Powell. I mean Rison isn't in that click. He doesn't have his family in the system. His brother isn't now the assistant AD, driver ed teacher, and softball coach. His wife didn't get promoted. His son-in law didn't get hired right in the middle of last school year right out of college with no experience. And his son-in law's mom doesn't work in the Central Office. Good job Mr Powell. Way to get rid of the buddy system!!!!!!

I am not a proponent of big government, from what I have been reading on topix & other blogs it sounds like Powell has grown the school system with employees causing extra money, benefits, etc to the taxpayer. The problem seems to be the extra jobs created is for his personal staff. How will this benefit the children? Someone posted he has three secretaries, has his own personal attorney supposedly on 24 hour call for both his personal & business needs. Hired an athletic director, who is staying two years while he collects his $85,000 a year while padding his retirement. He was supposedly paid close to$188,00 which included a high paying position for his wife plus $20,000 to put down on a house. Let's not forget Powell also created a job for Lisa Stone, who moved from Union County school to MOCO, this is what I understand from an Internet article. What is Lisa Stone being paid & what extra money was paid for her relocating? I also so topix post Kristi Carter's salary is $75,000 year.

Then there's Powell's salary according to his contract," he is making a salary of $140,000 a year with a $10,000 one-time relocation allowance for moving from Union County to Montgomery. Former Superintendent Daniel Freeman came to Montgomery County in 1998 from the Concord, N.C., School District. He received $5,000 relocation allowance. Freeman’s salary as of the 2010-11 school year was $131,867. " "The contract also stipulates that the superintendent will have an allowance of $250 per month for technology reimbursement, in consideration of cell phone service, computer equipment and access in addition to the normal computer equipment provided. Freeman said he did not receive any additional technology benefits." "Powell’s contract also states that he will be reimbursed for personal expenses incidental to travel with an itemized statement of proof. The board will provide, according to the contract, an allowance of $650 per month. Freeman was given a company automobile for community and school district use in his contract. Maintenance and fuel costs were paid for by the district. An annuity of $5,000 per year of service is also included in the contract, along with 20 days of paid annual leave, whereas the superintendent may accumulate to a maximum of 60 days. Freeman’s contract did not outline an annuity payment. Freeman told the Advocate he gave up his life insurance plan, which was becoming expensive, in exchange for 10 days of paid leave time, which did not accumulate or roll-over. Powell’s contract is set to expire or be renewed June 30, 2015, unless terminated sooner under the agreement of both Powell and the board." https://www.google.com/url... t&rct=j&q=superintende nt% 20josh%20%20powell%20paid%20% 24140%2C000&source=web &cd=2& ved=0CDQQFjAB&url=http%3A% 2F% 2Fwww.msadvocate.com % 2Fmorestory.aspx%3FstoriesID% 3D1080&ei=X60eUc3jE_ O90QGr1YHACA&usg=AFQjCNEau _ 9CuYaQMBQlBkRVN4oFQPR11g&b vm= bv.42553238,d.dm

Does anyone know what Powell's extra staff is costing? Why does a man need three secretaries? Why isn't the board attorney good enough for Powell's legal needs? I heard his had his office remodeled & floor replaced three times, purchased a stainless fridge filled with Perrier water. Mary Lou said the office was shoddy work from previous administration. My question if its all about the children why take money to remodel an office no matter how bad? I understand if the floor is falling in but three floors not satisfying his tastes? I understand repairing a leaky roof. Why buy a full size fridge when you can have a mini fridge lot cheaper. Sounds like someone has been spending taxpayer money like a drunken sailor. If I have offended anyone, I am sorry. It's just my opinion the children needs aren't being put first. Dr.Freeman was by far more conservative spending & ask for half as much as Powell requested.
Creating a job for Lisa Stone in Union County & hiring her for MOCO sounds like the good ol boy system to me.

The board signed his contract and I can not blame a man for bettering himself
