First let me say, I'm not going to argue opinions. Everyone has opinions about everything :o) This is about the legitimacy of the claim and how the incident was handled.*****IF YOU SEE AN ANIMAL AT THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY FAIR, PLEASE TAKE A PICTURE OF IT AND SEND IT TO ME***** My SON AND I WERE DENIED ENTRY TO THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY FAIR TODAY BECAUSE I HAD MEADEA (THE DOG) IN THE CAR WITH US. First they considered charging me for the dog, told me that she wasn't allowed on the rides (duh) and had to be on a leash. THEN they said that dogs were not permitted on the fairgrounds, however, I recall seeing jack russels and countless other dogs every single year at the fair. JMO they were PROFILING my dog because she looked mean, and even went so far as to call her a pitbull. I was told that having her around the concessions was AGAINST HEALTH DEPARTMENT REGULATIONS. IF that is the case, then why are there dogs EVERYWHERE at the Sorghum Festival and Court Days where there are also concessions? NOT ONLY are there concessions at Court Days, in the SAME county as this fair, but they also have booths with animals FOR SALE at these events. Not allowing my dog in a fair would be the equivalent to not allowing an animal in a ballpark because there are concessions. If dogs aren't allowed, they should be required to have a sign. If I had only a tiny cute puppy in my lap, I guarantee they would have ooed and awwwed over it and let me right in. IF YOU SEE AN ANIMAL AT THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY FAIR,*****PLEASE***** TAKE A PICTURE OF IT AND SEND IT TO ME. [email protected] My son was very disappointed and cried the entire way home.

the fair, court day, sorghum festival, poppy mtn, pioneer fest are not places for animals, PERIOD! this is not an opinion, it's a fact. despite all those that parade their dogs around these festivals, dogs in crowds suffer anxiety from the loud noises, unruly kids and teens. i have 5 jack russells and i would never try to take 1 or all to any of these. i have walked close to court day on main st at 7 a.m. for my morning walk but anything else is askin' for trouble regardless the temperment of yer dog. i love bein' with my dogs more than ANYTHING and anyone that knows me will agree, but sometimes ya gotta be smarter than the dog. i have never seen a dog at the fair unless it was a carny's dog or a stray lookin' for food scraps. now here's my opinion....i think you've slipped a cog claimin' legitimate anything. and profilin'.....ya never said, but you stated they "went so far as to call her a pitbull" so is she a pitbull or not? my guess yes. i wish more things were pet friendly, cos my dogs are all the family i got. but sometimes theres jus' a time and place that ya need to leave 'em at home!!!

What idiot tries to take a dog to the fair? I mean do you take the mutt to walmart, church, mcdonalds, or anywhere else??? Im sure some inbred will bring up the "its part of the family" bull but a dog is an animal not a human. Duh, keep your dam dog at home. The only one to blame for your kid crying is you, take some responsibility as a parent. Going to the fair is a privilege not a right.

Dogs are not allowed at court day. People just don't listen and bring them anyway.

wow i cant believe they denied you access just because of your dog that is a shame i guess not everyone appreciates time outside of your home with your pets and for all your info i take my dog with me to parks and i have taken my dog to church with me my dog sat beside me the entire time ive taken my dog to court day before they made this ridiculous ordnance and ive had one of my dog to the beach so i guess if someone with a disability wants to go to one of these places but has to have a dog then they are just out of luck huh cause sadistic people like you are against having pets with them and enjoying their company other than just leaving them cooped up in the house all the time other than a few walks and some yard time people like you make me sick

I love animals, but here's the thing like someone posted above noone wants to have to watch their step on the fairgrounds for nasty's animals leave behind. There is enough to watch out for such as gum, other foods sold at fairs and most of all perves lurking around. You should have just taken your child to the fair and left bow wow at home.

First of all Dog Lover from Morehead, they decided this year to not let dogs at the fair. Any dogs. Courtday, dogs are not allowed also. The police try to tell people they have to leave with the dogs, some do and some just sneak back in until they get caught again. If you wanted your son to enjoy the fair, you should have left the dog at home. Dogs should not be around were their all bunch of kids, the dog isn't familiar with. People are just asking for trouble to bring dogs into a hug crowd. By the way they do not sale dogs at Mt.Sterling Courtdays, but do at Preston.

why do people think a dog enjoys a fair, they do not like loud noises and most get stressed in crowds if u love ur dog leave it safely at home instead of stressing it out!

Take Joe Harris' and "Sure" 's advise. Leave your pet at home. They don't enjoy crowds, loud noises, strangers trying to pet them. Also there are all sorts of foods on the ground to make them sick, not to mention the animal disease they could come into contact with. Just use common sense. By the way, Joe, I'm someone else that loves seeing that happy little pack of yours walking down the By Pass.

you are not a common sense "dog person" like you'd want us all to believe and yer statement about handicaped people not bein' able to attend these places due to a service dog is ludicrous and validates my claim. under the disabilities act, all places must allow service dogs because unlike most dogs, service dogs have been trained how to act in a public setting. most people don't even pick up their dogs droppings cos they think thats a stupid law. beaches don't want landmines left by huge dogs owned by inconsiderate owners and court day is the last place any dog of ANY size needs to be! sadistic, you need to hone up on yer vocabulary before you write yer next letter cos you make yerself sound like a derelict!!!

Keep your animals at home and let them crap in your own yard. Yes that is gross to have around places that have food. Just like people with cats that let them climb all over their house with shitty paws it's just gross. You may see your pets as your children and hopefully you don't let your kids crap all over the place where people are trying to eat.

well i was sitting by a guy at the demolition derby monday and he had a dog on a leash. he was talking about how much he sold them for. And bascily he told me the very reason he brought the dog was to promote his business. He breeds them and sells them for 1500. And later when i was walking my kids around i saw him walking the dog. So I really don't understand why they would let him but not you.

I have a little yorkie and he is very very spoiled so much that he hates being alone. He is very friendly maybe overly friendly lol...but the only big public event that I had him to was avarice show in frenchburg last year, and lets say it was a mistake I will never again take him to a place like that. He is one that likes to greet every person he sees, it was more gasket than it was worth and I ended up packing him the majority of the time. They may set up for dogs to be sold ay court day or what not but they are in cages there is a difference....as much as I love my little dog and is like the only kid I have I would never think of taking him to a fair not even before the car show event, but now all little outings are out of the question for my little guy. They can pick up so many different kinds of things that would make them sick and then you may never know what temper your dog might get in, if it bit someone you are in a huge mess....its just not worth it!! Doesn't mean you don't love your dog, but means you love them enough to make sure they don't encounter unneeded harm, stress, trouble,or discomfort. But for the record I went both tonight and last night and only seen dog it was bulldog pup on a leash that was it, let's just hope it had its shots is all I can say

I know someone that takes their dog everywhere, but doesn't realize how many people around them thinks the dog is annoying. The dog already bit one kid and will take the dog around other kids, then tell us the kids make the dog nervous, saying the kids need to calm down and won't put the dog in a cage. I feel sorry for some animals that have horrible owners.
