My Mom, Whose in a Wheel Chair and 88 Years Old, and is very disabeled...went to Smiths's Furnature to Buy a Laz-Z-Boy Recliner, she had to get a ride there, as she struggled in with her Walker, and tried out a few chairs, she found one she was happy with, So she Struck a Deal, on that Chair with Mr Smith, She Paid $400.00 for it, The next Day, He delivered her a Chair that was worth $200.00, and is Very Hard & Uncomfortable for her, as she sits in a power chair "ALL DAY LONG'...after contacting him to explain the problem, He Hung up on her, and Basically told her to Kiss his A$$...as had no exchanges, and now REFUSES to Even talk to her about it...She live alone and has NO-One to help her....SO WATCH OUT FOR MR. SMITH...and his Lil Ripoff Business....

Thanks for posting this--I have never bought furniture from either of these places. I need a new bedroom suite and a TV so I appreciate the info on Smith's.

I can say this, myself and other members of my family have bought appliances, flooring, and furniture from the Smith’s many times over the past 30 plus years and have never once been ripped off or cheated by anyone that works there. I have always been given courteous, timely, and friendly service from every single person I have come into contact with at Smith’s. If I ever had a problem it was always addressed and corrected, and I will continue to do business there and recommend them to others as well. That has always been my experience with them and I have dealt with all of them over the years. I’m not saying what you claim to have happened did not happen. I’m not a family member, employee, or friend…just a long time customer wishing to share my experience as you did.

Well, maybe you were treated fairly because of who you are. Sometimes when we are either "important" or married to someone "important" as in your case Ma'am, the service is different...better. Just saying, Judi. I mean, we all can't have a home in Judy set in the midst of a rolling meadow.

Like I said before I don't believe the crap this lady is saying on here. The man wouldn't be in business for 50 years if he was treating people that way.

I went there a year or so ago to get a piece for my dryer. They told me I couldnt buy just that piece because it wasnt sold like that.So I went over to Vinson's to get a second opinion. They ordered the piece,I got it the next day. It was 30 dollars. The piece Smith's was trying to sell me was 240 dollars. Figure it out.

Oh you flatter me Archibald!! I can assure you Archie that all of your presumptions and assumptions are incorrect. I’m a “nobody” just like “you” are. You can rest assured dear friend that I do not live on a sprawling, lavish estate with guard dogs and armed security forces patrolling the perimeter to protect me from the "common folk". A screen name means nothing you silly, and you know what they say about assumptions. Like I said in my post before, I was just relaying my experience and my families experience with a local business. I did not say I didn’t believe this threads original author about their mother’s experience. What a laugh I’ve had this morning. I can just imagine me sitting on my throne at my lavish country estate directing my subjects to do my bidding, and receiving “special” treatment because of who I am. If you really knew who I was you’d be laughing with me at your presumptions. Thanks for the laugh my friend.

SO...Let me get this straight....Your Mother picked out her own chair and she was happy with at the time of the purchase. She was also happy with the price of her chair.. 400$ sounds very cheap for a recliner..then the chair was delivered and now she is not happy with the chair because it sits hard???
I have been buying furniture for years and can tell you thatI have never purchased furniture that I can return because I change my mind. I do not know of any business that will accept a return under those circumstances.

Hazel Compton came to Smith's to purchase a recliner. She sat in a lot of chairs and found one she liked. The chair was on sale, but Mr Smith gave her another $100.00 off that price. She sat in the chair a long time and decided to purchase that chair. She was told that she could not return the chair. The chair was delivered to her and she read the warning on the tag about smoking, as all upholstery has this warning. She immediately starts calling saying the chair is going to explode with her. She was told at time of purchase it could not be returned. Mr Smith did not tell her to kiss anything. The chair she sat in was the chair she picked out. Just wanted everyone to know this is what actually happened and my name is not Smith.
