Rottweilers euthanized after killing small Farmingville dog

There were roughly 300 FATAL dog attacks over a 20 YEAR TIME SPAN (between 1979 and 1998). In 2001, there were 11,671 homicides caused by guns alone (that's almost 32 gun murders a day).

I'd say that in the long run - humans armed with firearms are much, much, MUCH more dangerous than any dog breed - pitbull, rotti, german, husky - no matter which way you slice it.

According to the CDC, "Breed-specific legislation does not address the fact that a dog of any breed can become
dangerous when bred or trained to be aggressive. From a scientific point of view, we are unaware of any formal evaluation of the effectiveness of breed-specific legislation in preventing fatal or nonfatal dog bites. An alternative to breed-specific legislation is to regulate individual dogs and owners on the basis of their behavior."

Oh that is so sad. Too bad the rotts weren't obedience trained. This could have been avoided. I feel sorry for the owners of the maltese. I can only imagine how hard that must be for them.
