Here are two lesson on -

"What Must I Do To Be Saved?"

1. http://www.gospelpreceptor.com/WoodsGN1.htm

2. http://www.gospelpreceptor.com/PorterC1.htm

We hope to present the word of God without any additions or any subtractions (1Peter 4:11).

To many preachers are telling people what they want to here rather than what the Lord actually said.

I hope you will open your bible and check out these lessons (Acts 17:11). See if this is actually what the bible says on this subject (John 5:39).

Must one repent to go to heaven?

Does (Rom.10:9) mention repentance?

It seems you are teaching man is saved by belief "alone".

(James 2:24) says,

24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

not by faith only.

not by faith only.

not by faith only.

You mean you do not accept truth so you reject it. Isn't that what you really mean?

48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.(John 12:48)

They heard, believed and were baptized (immersed in water for the forgiveness of sins)(Acts 18:8)

What kind of baptism does the NT teach us today?

Water baptism, the eunuch and Philip went down into the water and they came up our of the water. He rejoiced afterwards.(Acts 8:35-39)

Does the NT tell us what water baptism is for?

(Acts 2:38 ; 22:16)

1. Arise

2. Be baptized

3. Wash away your sins

The blood of Jesus washes away the sins of the person who is obedient to the words of the Lord.(Eph.1:7)(Rev.1:5)

Does the NT tell us how many baptism are in force today?

One Lord ,One faith One baptism.(Eph.4:5)

There are as many Lords today as there are baptisms in force today, "ONE".

The bible says that "one baptism" (immersion in water) is for the forgiveness of sins.(Acts 2:38 ; 22:16).

That same baptism (immersion in water) is to "put on Christ" (Gal.3:27).

Do not take my word for it. Check this information out in your own bible (if you have a reliable translation).

I use the KJV just b/c I am used to it,but the NKJV / ASV are also a couple of good bible translations.

The Bible states we are saved by ONE thing..."Grace through faith.". That is all! Anything else is of man. "Not of works lest any man should boast."

Most of you on here are simply just boasting about what you have or can do to be saved. It's not about what you or I can do. It's about the atoning sacrifice that Jesus Christ alone could and has done.

Finally, the gift of salvation is a FREE gift. If one can lose that gift and has to work to obtain it, then how can it be free?

I suggest you read the words of Jesus, not some website promoting one denomination over another.

Thank you , mycall2rise. That's all I was saying. Some denoms try to mask their "works" theology with scripture but fail to realize that the "get baptized every time you sin" nonsense is akin to the "eat this wafer to make yourself holy again " lunacy.

First let me say thank you for posting. Many people just do not want to speak about religious matters.

Can you show me one verse in the NT which says man is saved by grace "alone"?

Can you show me one verse in the NT which says man is saved by faith "alone"

I hear people saying this much of the time but I have never seen one verse in the NT which teaches such a thing. If you can show me one verse in the bible which teaches those things I will teach it till the day I die. Fair enough?(1Peter 4:11)(Acts 17:11)(John 5:39)

Many people say man is saved by grace alone and faith alone and then proceed to tell people they must repent? And then tell them they must say the "sinners prayer" to be saved?

If I am saved by grace "alone" and faith "alone", why would you then tell me I must repent and say a prayer to be saved? This doctrine contradicts itself in so many ways it will take awhile to unravel. But notice what Gods word says (1Cor.14:33).

33 For God is not the author of confusion,...

On the free gift, I could give you a check for $100.00 but you would have to receive the check for it to do you any good. After you received the check you then would need to go to a bank and cash it before you could actually get the money.

Can you see how a free gift would require you to do something?

On the subject of losing salvation I would ask you to read (Acts 8:13-24). Simon became a Christian in the very same manner as those in (Acts 2:38 ; 8:5,12). Soon after he returned to his old way of thinking. This almost cost him his to lose his soul according to Peter's inspired words. Thankfully Simon done what Peter told him to do to get right with God once again. What Simon done was follow the principle found in (1John 1:9).

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The "we" refers to Christians. The verse above is not for the alien sinner.

I suggest you read (John 15:3-6).

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Notice the man who once followed the Lord was then burned for not abiding in Christ. What does it mean to abide in Christ? It means to do as the Lord commands (John 14:15,21 ; 15:10,14)(1John 2;3-6).

Last, I would like to say that I am not promoting one denom over another. I denounce them all.

The church of Christ is not a denomination.

The Lord built one church and the bible tells us when and where that church was established (Dan 2;44)(Isa.2:1-5)(Joel 2:28)(Luke 24:47-49)(Acts 1:5,8)(Acts 2). Any church which does not fulfil those prophecy scriptures above are made by man and will not save anyone.

I am not trying to make anyone upset. I am hoping to get you to test the church you attend now (1John 4:1-6). Make sure the church your in is the Lords church b/c the Lord does not own all these denoms we see today.
