Doctor Unprofessional

I recently took a family member to an appointment with a doctor here in Mt. Pleasant. Quiring is the dr she went to. This man and his staff were very unprofessional, mostly him more than the staff. While there were several patients waiting well past their appointment times he continued to talk to some guy in the back who looked to be straight out of trash town. They continued to talk about rock bands and women while we all waited. Finally after this important talk ended Quiring went back into his office, shut the door and I believe took a nap. This went on for about 2 hours while we all waited. I mentioned something about the wait time in a casual and polite manner when we were concluding and Quiring stated to me.. "It's my office, I'll run it how I want." He is very right.. but he will run it without patients who are part of my family. I am going to follow this post up with a report to the BBB and furthermore I am going to spread the word here in the MP area that he is more interested in a pretending he is a rock band and player than he is conducting a business in the Medical field.

Has anybody else been treated in a similar fashion at this office?

Quiring, has always treated myself and every person I know with the upmost respect and courtesy, there are times that occur that we may not know the full scope of things, we as patients should be aware that other circumstances may Come before our appointed hr., if this isn't par for yourself, there's always the ER!!!

Always the ER??? What are you people on Medicaid or have no insurance? The ER is for EMERGENCIES, not doctor visits. This is why healthcare is so high for everyone that PAYS for it. People that abuse the system cause problems for those of us working and paying for it.

My goodness. Yes I agree that some abuse the system but what about the others? Those who fall through the cracks. Make too much money for assistance but not enough to afford ins. Or how about the mentally handicap that have been left alone to fend for them selves? What about me? A single mother who did not choose to be left for a younger woman. Educated but can no longer do the job I was trained for because of a horrible crippling disease. To go from a 6 figure income to minimum wage, to look at your feet and hands only to not recognize them because they are twisted and disfigured. To endure the pain because the medicine needed is far to expensive. I work, I feed my children, I thank god for every day he gives me the strength to get up and work no matter how intense the pain, and I PAY MY TAXES TOO! there has been a time that after rent and groceries I could not afford to see a dr. I chose to go to the ER and I'm glad I did. I was very close to death with pneumonia. Btw, I paid that bill off too. It took me a while but it's paid! Careful how you judge others. See I once looked at people in much the same way. My how The Lord hath humbled me....... And even still, I thank him for who I have become.

There are plenty of clinics all over East Texas for lower income families and for people with disabilities. The clinics adjust their charges based on your income. Also, many doctors offices will allow you to pay them out. The ER is not the answer. The charges are many times what it would be in a physicians office because of the high level of services "they are suppose to see," not all of the minor issues they are so abused with. The ER is the biggest revenue loss department of a hospital. There are many programs available for you if you will just apply. Doing the paperwork is the biggest part of it all. Our crazy government is trying to cover everyone now with "free care." With "free care" you are going to get what you pay for. This is going to bankrupt the insurance companies first and then the hospitals and doctors. The hospitals are now more heavily triaging patients and if you are not a true emergency then you are put at the end of the treatment list or referred to one of their clinics, as it should be. The public is now too use to getting free care at the expense of the taxpayers. It's time to stop it. You have paid your bill, but the other 99% of the population that has used the ER for non-emergent situations has not and that is a big part of the reason that everyone gripes about why healthcare is so high. Only a small percentage of the population is actually paying their bills. You should see the people abusing the system that I see everyday. So many cannot pay for healthcare, yet they have new cars, the latest cell phones, designer clothes, their face, hair and nails are perfect. I could talk about this forever. The system is in total collapse and it is because of the abuse that the government has allowed to occur. Ask any high school kid about their friends and having babies. They all know they can get a medicaid card and not pay for anything. They all know they can get free cell phones, government housing...and the list goes on and on. What happened to working and becoming someone. So many are lifeless and happy with the free handouts. Blame Obama as he continues handing our reparations for the rest of his term.

Well said. It's a shame the rest of the country does not think with the same common sense.
