Why is WB a division II football school? They play only 2 division II teams. The rest are III & IV. If you look at Amelia (d. II) they play 2 divsion I schools and 1 division II. Yes, Amelia did in fact lose, but were man enough to have them scheduled. Just wondering thats all!

1. Ohsaa divisions are based on student population
2. the vast majority of their league is made up of small schools

Ok, I do understand the OHSAA student population. But, they only play 5 or half (51%+ is a majority) of their games against league opponents. So who schedules the other non-league games against say, Batavia, CNE, Waverly (all division IV schools). You would think the coach would like tougher teams so he has a better chance at the playoffs, right?

Couldn't tell you why they schedule the way they do.

Once again, looks like they blew out a division IV school. Guess we'll see how tough they are when they face NR tonight. Looking back at some past scores, seems to be a great matchup!

Maybe they should start scheduling Anderson, Turpin, Winton Woods, Woodward, Hamilton-Ross, etc. like they used to! All Division II Schools. Hell, they could even throw in a d. III school like McNicholas. See how they fare then. And like I said it seems to be a great matchup in recent years between WB and NR. Looking at the score, it was indeed a close game! And yes, it was wa big win as well.

I would just like to see them play more competitive schools. They've gone away from those teams to playing d. IV and blowing them out. At least get some competition for those kids. And stop making that coach over there look like a boy genius!

again, they can't control who they are required to play in their league, but i will give you non-league. But, when did they ever play those teams you have mentioned

man that was nearly two decades ago, the times have changed. i think if you went back through any high school programs schedule over the last 20 years you would find that nobody is playing the same teams they use to. and a few of the programs you mentioned were not of the same caliber then as they are today. if you want to see them play more competitive teams then call the head coach and let him know- i am sure he will listen.

tough game this friday against goshen, should be a good one. who do the barons have (by the way big win for you guys last week)?

dont blame the schedule on the coach. The AD wont let him schedule games. Hillsboro is home area of AD, Waverly is home of AD's wife. not good reason to play them but they are the only reasons i can think of.

Talk to Tim Cook, not the coach. Tim Cook rules what goes on at WB!!

I am assuming he is the AD? Either way, they are having a great season so far and with a little luck maybe they can finish undefeated and get into the playoffs.

Even if they go undefeated, I dont think they will make the playoff's with that scheduling. If they happen to, they'll get blown out like they did in 2008 at New Carlisle. Gotta play competition to beat competition. You'll never get better if you keep beating up on scrubs! And I thought the AD was a hometown guy? He's been there for about 25 years.

Its funny you think Im a Amelia guy (whom you just clobbered)close, but not! Rankings show WB at the 8th spot for a playoff bid. They'll have to win out too, against undefeated Batavia (d.IV) and a strong 7-1 Norwood (d.IV) team. WB controls their own destiny these next few weeks. And if they get in there, the'll most likely face a tough Turpin team who currently holds the #1 spot. Good luck this week!

I'd say out coached. The kids played great on both teams! Maybe the WB Coach and AD will look at setting up some more physical non-leagues game in the future! That will help those boys to be prepared for tough physical play when needed the most. Looks like they are out of play-offs for the time being (but not eliminated). Norwood is a must win for WB to be in.

No, just a former WB grad when we played the likes of Turpin, Anderson, McNick, etc etc. Now at a different school with my children and see how weak of a schedule they have come to play.
