Freedom of speech is not an absolute right. It amazes me that we are so concerned with "rights" of the people at the expense of the people they were designed to protect. Just another aberration of our democracy being exploited by disrespectful and manipulative people. I would venture to guess that our forefathers could not foresee a society like ours that preys on the weak and downtrodden.
There is obviously a problem here. If your not part of the solution, your part of the problem.

Why wasn't a 3 year old supervised and commenting on how many kids they have. Do you people have hearts, can you even begin to wonder what the parents and grandmother are feeling. That grandmother has to live with turning her back for probley seconds maybe min.
Than you I was thinking the same thing. Children need supervision, but sometimes a tragedy happens because no none can sit and watcha child every waking second. a back is turned to use the rest room, do laundry, or settle down another child. HOW sad. RIP

This is outrageous. Why wasn't the child being watched? I've raised three children and when they were young I always watched them. The grandmother should be arrested for negligence.
You are a sick person - have you no compassion?

I agree. They should remove the comment section. It's just turned into an outlet for your Asperger's Syndrome.
for godsakes, don't drag in the subject of asperger's syndrome! Why would you start bashing the unfortunate victims of autism? Get a grip!

I agree. This comments section serves no purpose other than providing a platform to some of the most despicable and deranged racists in the area.“People” like ILLEGAL, Larchmont, Al Robinson, and Gracious spread their anti-white and anti-American hatred and ignorance every day, constantly belittling other posters and making fun of victims of horrible tragedies like this.
I wish the News-Times would do the decent thing for once and remove the comments section entirely. I’m sick and tired of reading the filth that gets posted on this site.
I'm betting the comments section will disappear pretty soon as I don't think the Danbury News Times will be around for much longer. It gets lamer every week.

Am I to guess you are not a parent?
My 3 yr old managed to unlock the front door (2 separate locks) and was down the road before I realized she was gone. It wasn't from lack of parenting, or a lack of supervision either. She and her little brother were in the living room watching TV and I left the room for a moment to get her brother's bottle out of the fridge. Any parent can tell you that kids that age are amazingly fast and sometimes even locked doors don't stop them. I feel horrible for this family and my prayers are with them.

It's MORE erotic when you use my log-in name and quote things I said a year and a half ago, alex. wait, not "erotic"...I mean "creepy" and lonely sounding.

I too raised three children, all boys... I can tell you no matter how closely you watch them, they get into things you cannot imagine.
As I watched two of my boys playing in the backyard from my kitchen window, I saw them run down the hill towards the lake as they often did... and they ran back up too. On one trip down the younger of the two who was about 4, couldn't stop himself, and he ran right over the bulkhead into the water. His brother, a year older ran to the house yelling my name, as I rushed out to rescue the younger one, who was by now standing back on the lawn dripping wet. Yes it could have ended differently, because I was outside w/them... I was inside getting the youngest a two year old a drink of water.
Don't blame the grandmother... she is a very caring and loving person who raised 6 children of her own in that very house... and other grandkids have been there to visit and play in the yard.
Shame on you for being so judgemental. I hope you never experience such a tragedy w/your grandkids.
