Pablo, If you think "we" can legislate population growth then you are fooling yourself. This planet has been here for a long time and has a good track record of taking care of itself. Our existence on this earth is a mere bleep on the radar. This planet could shake us all off in a second. Ask the people in Pompei still buried in their upright positions, the dinosaurs who have existed far longer than we have are all gone. Evidence that Greenland and the North Pole were once lush green tropical forests. Why do u think their is so much oil up there? Core samples show that. It's a fact. The evidence of large glacier cuts along the river down near Holtwood and Safe Harbor Dams. These areas will once again be radically changed by our planet. The evidence of super viruses in the past will once again re- emerge wiping out whole civilizations. Volcanoes of historical proportions will once again erupt and cover the planet for years with sunlight blocking dust that will kill off our ability to grow food and burn our lungs out with acid and sulfur. Their will once again be great earthquakes that will totally change the landscape. The climate temperatures will once again change due to these forces and create new tropical areas and new glacial areas. All of these things will happen again just as they have happened over the Billions of years that this planet has existed. So if you are arrogant enough to think we can control what this planet has in store for us then you are fooling yourself. So just sit back, drink a couple beers, relax and enjoy what we have here because there is'nt a whole lot you are anybody else can do about it. This planet knows what it's doing. It's done it over and over time and time again. Now go get yourself laid or something and stop it with your population growth nonsense. You are wasting your time.
I could not disagree more. Yes the planet will take care of itself but it is not arrogance to assume that the human species could have a negative affect on it. Frankly it is foolish to discount the affect of the amount of people we have on the planet today and the amount expected to live on the planet in another 10, 20, 30 years from now. More people than the sum of all people who have ever lived to date. A hel* of a lot of people. So new and emerging technologies and initiatives aimed at protecting the planet and its resources should be embraced.

An old Native American saying,“We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children”.

Why Turkey Hill? If you look at the PA Wind Map ( ) to see where in the state there is potential for generating meaningful wind energy, this area ranks as only a 2 on a scale that goes up to 7. The only parts of the state that have meaningful windpower potential are on the blue mountain ridge, running diagonally from the southwester part of the state to Wayne County, and maybe Lake Erie. But aside from the turbines on the turnpike near Somerset, there isn't enough visibility to show we are doing something about windpower. So our tax dollars are committed to a money-losing installation at Turkey Hill. The state's own website says "For the purpose of developing a large scale wind farm, Class 3 winds or higher are necessary." So if Turkey Hill is only a 2, then why are we subsidizing a large scale farm there? I wonder how much we will actually see them spinning. But don't we all feel good about saving the planet and making carbon-free ice cream? Give me a break.
