You wonder why Mt Joy can't "get along" then you bash the supervisor for quitting. Hipocritical to say the least

you have alot of nerve to ask why can't people get along, but yet you have the same attitude that many of us have, only ours is for the new clowns. I voted for these new guys. Change, an open government. They claimed that the previous board was so secretive. Yet, I had never had an issue with getting info. I voted because I thought it would be better for everyone. Boy did I goof. These new guys are more secretive, and out for personal gain than anyone I have seen in office since Beebe was supervisor. Personal gain should be the new Township slogan. This country is very big you are correct. But how assinine of you to suggest the Witt family move because we are all embarassed by our new leaders. And on top of it all we go bact to the statement of why can't we all just get along, but yet you have to slander all that was effected on January 4, 2010. And finally, your wonderful leaders have been incorrect and you are helping to spread their ignorance of knowledge. The $90,000.00 salery you refer to, was not just for the 2 employees. Maybe you and your wonderful leaders should learn how to research your information!

Shame on you to attack an ex supervisor. Beebe did a lot of good things for the township. I believe all of previous supervisors did a good job also, but agree it was time for some change. I would like to thank the supervisors for their service and think the new board should do the same. Maybe if they put the past behind them and honor the previous supervisors for their service, this would make them at least look like they're trying to reconcile the past. Anyway, I personally think Beebe, Snyder, and Long did a wonderful job and am thankful they served the people of Mt. Joy. (Thank You Mr. Beebe)

Bravo! Adults are finally getting on the Comment Lines! I agree with you 100%! If everyone loves MtJOY, they will want the new board to succeed for Mt Joy Township. I didn't agree with the old board sometimes and probably won't agree with the new board and probably won't agree with the next board so on and so on! It's politics. Everyone of them were/are polititians and that's how the game is played. Speaking of games, lets' all stop playing them and start acting like adults and be respectful of one another including our board & committees.I am not aligned with either group. I thanked some of the old board members/committes and look forward to going to the meetings to listen and learn as I did in the past. We should all do the same.

Harold Beebe tried to keep things the way they were. No road updates, just minor repairs, the roads were horribly kept in the snow, and equipment was at a minimal. How was that such a great job?

To the letter writer: Reread your letter and you will see why everyone can't get along. You assert the former supervisors were acting only in self-interest, but you provide no proof. You make a vague reference to "all this corruption," but supply no evidence. You are entitled to your opinion, and you are even entitled to express it in print, but you do a disservice by making accusations and not backing them up with facts. If that is the only kind of justification the new supervisors and their apologists are able to offer, no wonder they are not inspiring better cooperation among their fellow township residents and community leaders.

Don't you think you and your neighbors deserve something better than having to shrug it off as a lousy system that you have to live with? If not I'm sorry for you.

Didn't say it was a lousy system, you did. It is the only system and the people voted. However, I will give the new guys time to show what they can do. If they are not what I want, I'll vote the this bunch out and hope my votes count.

Gormont HAS always been totally in charge. Rhodes and Updyke are just puppets and cannot/do not think for themselves. I hope the two new guys have brains of their own!
