Where were the teachers when this happened?

from what I understand the teachers were either gone home or in the designated classrooms doing the tutoring that should have been the only activities going on in the school at that time, not monitoring the bathrooms, which is where this allegedly took place

agreed most of what you hear is not correct but if you hear enough things there are probably some truths in there somewhere, and I hope for the sake of the little town this is not the black eye that it goes out in..theres got to be more memorable times then this for the high school to be known for...

If the facts come out and the allegations are true, The principal or whomever was in charge of after school studies needs fired. The boys in question need prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The girls need our prayers. The school needed to be secure for the safety of our children. This discusting, terrible, act also means that a gunman could have walked right in and killed some people..
just so ya know

They just reported again on the news an hour ago, that two 13 year old girls were raped on the school property. No arrests have been made yet.

Those are some facts.

why are so many people getting so hostile...we truly don't know what all the facts are but at some point if the police do their jobs, that is a definite possibility about the gunman coming onto the campus and doing the unthinkable but it's not really the principals or teachers job to go around and make sure that all doors are locked after each day is it? I'm thinking that that's the janitors job from what I'm understanding the one little girl did what she did because she wanted to and the other was there fro what reason is what needs to be clearly found out and discussed by law officials it's more about the morals that the kids are growing up with isn't it..I would hope that if I were to raise a boy to be a young man he would not want to have a romantic interlude in the bathroom of a school in front of spectators...call me wrong but what little girl at 13 years old thinks it's a good idea to be treated as such? Wow....

Im sure its the the school system to make sure our children are safe. The principal is in charge of that school.Safe guards should have been put in place. They let this child down.

I dont see anyone on here ready to prosecute the principal. I did say the principal or whomever was in charge of running the after school studies needs fired. I did say the principal was in charge of that school. I did say safeguards against this type of thing happening should have been put in place. I don't see anyone on here judging anyone. This should of never have happened and could have easily been prevented. What I do see on here is someone blameing a 13 year old girl for what happened. How can you blame a rape victim. Granted, maybe she did go into the restroom or wherever to do whatever but once a girl changes her mind and says stop or no, thats when a boy is supposed to stop PERIOD. I know everyone of the students involved and its hard to believe this happened but it did and this leads directly back to the lack of safeguards at the school. NO ONE SHOULD EVER BE ABLE TO "ROAM" FREELY AT THE SCHOOL. Maybe we should all pray for those involved...

were the 13 yr old girls in the 8th or 9th grade? if they were in the 8th grade, it may have made a difference if they had a middle school to attend and keep them separated from older students. needless to say, it is not the kids' fault that the middle school burned down and all of mt. hope's middle school children are forced to attend high school.

I know that this situation has nothing to do with race of offender or offended. It's got to do with the generation of kids that feel as though they can do as they please until someone that they don't want to know finds out then it's made to be something different! From my understanding one of the little girls is of mixed race and the other is Caucasian, but that doesn't mean that what happened to them was their fault or they deserved it, because that couldn't be any further from the truth. No means "NO" and that's that! If it were my daughter I would want her desire to say no to be granted, wouldn't you? For years the powers that be knew that something major was going to go on between the ages in this multi grade school, whether it be smoking, drugging, fighting or whatever else the 16-17 year old kids are into versus what the 11,12 and 13 year old kids know or are introduced to by the older ones...(isn't that one of the ways we as young American's learn follow the lead of big brother/sister or older kids)? I'm just curious as to if there is any more deliberation required about whether or not to consolidate the schools so that the kids will be in school with kids their own ages? If I teach my kids that they are already behind the other kids in small town USA because of the color of their skin why wouldn't I also teach them to use their power of the brain to make wise decisions pertaining to anything that another could use against you in the end! I can't and won't blame I'm going to teach!

You know this would have taken on a whole new approach if the girls were black & had been raped by white boys! The blacks would be out for blood!! I do agree these middle school kids should be in their own school, which they would have had if it hadn't burned or if the parent or parents recommending they be put with the high school students to keep them from closing was a great idea....wonder what they think now? Still, I think school personnel should have been there if it was open for any reason or had it locked.

I think that any parent of the offended would be out for blood..(wouldn't you)? I have lived in many places and this seems to be the worse when it comes to race relations but even past that we have to take responsibility for our juvenile offenders and their ways in society..because I'm black/white or can do something special with a ball doesn't make me above the law or mean that I don't have to use the brain God gave me! I think that this is about crime only not race. If my daughter was assaulted by anyone I'd like to think that the best thing to happen would be for the police to get at them before I did..no matter her race!!

Get the police to patrol the Town and stay off of rt.19.. These kids laugh at the police and know they are never in town because they're on the big road. Everyone has been saying something was going to happen in this Town. This is the time for everyone to support each other ahd come together as a community.
